Dude stays injured and he's been meh the few games he's played. His salary next year is $63M and is still owed at least $200M. The Browns are loaded eveywhere except at QB. They could've used that money or draft capital (4 1st round picks) to get a decent QB.

Considering that most of us saw all of that coming, it's up there.

Every day I’m so thankful for the Browns front office gifting all of those 1st rd picks to the Texans.

No other GM was going to give him a fully guaranteed deal so this one is squarely on the Browns GM.

On top of that Cleveland gave up 1st pound picks in 2022, 2023 and 2024, a 3rd round pick in 2023 and a 4th round pick in 2024. I remember when the Dolphins being rumored to make a similar deal. My brain would have exploded.

I remember the packages the saints and falcons put together and all of a sudden Cleveland came in off the top rope with that craziness.

QB’s pay has been getting ridiculous for the service rendered or not rendered in this case.

yes because drafting QBs worked so well for the Browns

Watson was the closest thing to a guarantee they could get. We’d probably rather have him over Derek Carr

FIFY. That deal reeked of Jimmy Haslam from the start.

Carrs contract is bad, but it isn’t a quarter of a billion dollars and 4 1st round picks for a sexual predator bad.

John Koncak with the Hawks was terrible. Along with the fat 3rd baseman the Red Sox signed from Frisco.

Watson has a chance to be THE GUY though. It’s why Zion Williamson isn’t the worst contract in sports

With Carr you knew all you were going to get was mediocrity

That deal is 100% on Haslam. The Browns were out of the Watson race, until Haslam stepped in.

This has little to do with the contract, but The Texans fricking the Browns on that deal ALMOST makes up for Bill O' Brien butt fricking the Texans from within. Not unlike an incestual Uncle. With a C U N T for a chin.

But, as a Texans fan, I'm completely over it of course and hold on animosity to the fricktard of a dick pimple who I wouldn't piss on if he were on fire.

With the trade capital investment, it's certainly up there. Just financially, hell, I'd put Derick Carr up there as well. Coaching in New Orleans is abysmal but if a car (pun sort of intended) has problems for several owners, I am hard pressed to assume that maybe "the right owner" isn't going to make the car good.

Or they could have just stuck with Baker for much cheaper. Baker isn't great but he's looked better than Watson has since he got to the Browns. Why Cleveland was so quick to turn their backs on the QB that brought them their first playoff win since the Browns were rebooted I'll never understand.
