Yeah, the thing about Clemson that pisses me off is their Holier than Thou attitude. They’ve been busted for paying players and using roids, just own up to it like the other big time programs. Instead of saying “yeah we cheat but what are you going to do about it” they insist they got this good out of nowhere because Dabo prays a lot. Get that shite out of here.

How's the LSU investigation on the father of former LSU offensive lineman Vadal Alexander is alleged to have received $180,000 from a disgraced former booster of the school going

From your linked article:
quote:

“LSU was made aware of specific allegations by OLOL officials in late 2018 and made that information immediately available to the NCAA. As this is an ongoing inquiry, LSU will have no further comment.”

Considering the criminal case was just finished, I suspect the NCAA and potentially LSU are starting to really dig into this matter.

NewSpring Church.

It’s one thing if you have boosters giving recruits cars and cash - that is nothing unheard of and has been going on for decades. Funneling that through a megachurch and use it as a shield to cover it just shows what kind of people they are up there.

Investigator: “We’ve got em, sir. Clemson is going down. Everything is on tape.”

Supervisor: *sips brandy* “Good.....good.”

Investigator: “And after this we can finally move in on Alabama and those car dealerships.”

Supervisor: “That won’t be necessary, Johnson.”

Investigator: “Sir?”

Supervisor: “How about after the Clemson case you take some time off. You’ll get a promotion.”

Investigator: “But Alabama...”

Supervisor: “Is none of your concern. You’re dismissed.” *turns up classical music and turns around in chair*

Dabo is a Christian. So the attacks on Clemson are part of the war on Christianity.

UofSC fans are of the opinion that if you repeat a lie long enough then it’s true.

The Newspring thing is comical. The church was started at Anderson college and has board members that are UofSC alum. Say what you want about the church and it’s leadership, but it’s a ridiculous insinuation.

The Clemson assistant basketball coach that was recruiting Zion and later fired was clearly trying to insinuate that some kind of payment was going on in order to help his case with Zion... he never offered anything approaching evidence. The assistant did all kinds of shady things like lying to the head coach about visiting Zion.

As far as Xavier Thomas’ dad, I have no idea. My old coach was on military disability and he seemed to have a pretty good income.

I have no idea if Clemson is paying football players. But the things thrown at as evidence are ridiculous. UofSC fans throw lots of stones, but since the Bowden/Dabo era, UofSC are the ones that the NCAA has come down on twice now in the past 15 years.

I'd love to know what really goes down in recruiting. I bet 70% of these kids come from near poverty financial situations. If they were getting paid $300K (or whatever) for signing with a school, how in the heck would they hide it? Sure, some of them could launder it through a church or in this case, a power washing business or some similar loophole, but that would be an exception. Not everyone has that outlet though to camouflage it. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, it just can't be as widespread as it's made to sound on this board. If it is, I think it would be a lot more obvious. THink how many kids over the years that were 5 stars then went on to sit the bench and fizzle out. Don't you think some of these would then be blackmailing the school for more money? Basically, once they realize they're not going to strike it rich in the NFL, threaten to expose the corruption for another $200k? It would be happening left and right. The MAJORITY of 5 stars don't make a million dollars in the NFL, that means that the majority of these kids would suddenly decide to be honorable and not bite the hand that feed them the crumbs they already paid out. What about the transfer portal? Pay a kid $250k to sign with a school, then pulls a Tate Martell and changes committment twice and transfers school then drops out. If he was paid by a MIch booster, then they got f'n shafted. Somebody, somewhere would have exposed this a LONG time ago if half the team is paid. I'm sure there are a handful of kids on some of the bigger schools that are being paid, but they're not all getting Escalades.

This is what happens when a usurper upsets the apple cart. Where was all this circa 2008 when Alabama suddenly turned into a recruiting juggernaut and every recruit was posing in front of their brand new Charger on social media?

Is this serious? There were Auburn fans following around recruits from Gadsden, had binders proving Bama was playing players. All we heard was tick tock for 2-3 years. They even had Finebaum talking about it.

I’m not accusing or denying anyone of cheating with this post.

I think college football as a whole was desperate for big personality coaches they can market and push. More Bear Bryants, Woody Hayes, etc. USC screwed up so bad that they lose Pete Carroll. In 20 years we will look back fondly on Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and Dabo no matter what they did to get there.

I'm so over the NCAA and "penalizing teams after the fact" - hurting players who never took a dime.

Plus everyone is in favor of paying players now anyways...and besides, if the NCAA is never going to look at Bama and investigate anymore, what's the point?

I don't care if Clemson bought every player's Momma a house.
