even including the decision

if lebron's biggest faux pas is an overdone free agency announcement that was a big charity event, then my point stands

and

he admitted it was a mistake

Is every single thread like this that's ever been posted here or on the SECr because of insecurities? I find that just about impossible.

I still laugh at the fact people claim all their hated someone from when he made the switch to Miami.

He didn't truly force a trade like CP3. He just played out his contract and left. He then had one event where he got the whole media process about his decision of leaving over with in like 30 - 60 min instead of drawing out the process in a giant media story the whole offseason. He then used this one event to help his charity. If he didn't have the event he would have still been criticized because these people just want to hate someone.

He has been a team player and played team ball.

yeah the decision was something that had never really been done before

they did it. it wasn't exactly the best result all around. i doubt we ever see it again

and he apologized for it down the road

and ultimately, we got morgan freeman voice reading LBJ's letter, which means i'm forever in his debt

Is it time to revisit what Shaq did when he joined the Heat?

Slowflowpro really hit the nail on the head. Lebron haters and SJWs are one in the same. They look for reasons to be offended and upset

so lebron haters are trying to make the world a better place by trying to combat bigotry? I agree

This is a straight up lie. You are putting the cart before the horse. The unwarranted and irrational hate came first. This, the need for people to point out your ludicrousy.

it's just been a recurring theme for him

way back when, it was "he doesn't play defense" and then he got elite in defense

then it was "he can't shoot" and he became a good/solid shooter

then it was "he doesn't post up enough" and he comes back with a post game (still in progress)

i think that's one big change in cleveland. he's stopped trying to right perceived slights, so he's going back to his bread and butter of driving (and now posting up). it seems like some level of pressure is off him trying to justify his greatness and he's just playing ball again within a new team structure

There is still a difference with the LeBron haters. They still latch on to things of the past as a basis for their hate.

Also, to refute to bogus claim by hg that he hates Lebron due to fanboys:

The haters came first. Lebron won two MVP titles before the age of 26. So of course, people and the media took notice and started to talk about his greatness. Which they should. But for some reason, this sparked a burning hatred in some MJ fans that I will never understand. They went full fledge into Lebron hate mode.

That is when the MSB "Bron will never win a title!!!! He doesn't have the "IT" factor!!!"

Remember those threads? Well, then Lebron won two. So the, but he "lost a finals before!! MJ was undefeated" threads began. And so on and so the battle ensued. It was absolutely started by the haters

Ryen Russilo has a podcast that everyone should listen to. He says the MJ fans/Lebron haters is nothing he has ever experienced in sports. He talked about how most sports hosts and writers that watched both, put them very close to each other. But they have to tiptoe around it because of the fire it flames in some MJ fans.

the irony of this is that the media built a lot of the mythology of jordan

now they're stuck in that paradigm, 20-30 years later

To the point where Curry now gets hate from the MJ crowd.

Ah, the old "If you [do/do not] [blank], then [HYPERBOLIC STATEMENT!]"

That's the worst argument. People's preferences are based on a lot of factors you can't paint with such a broad brush, it actually seems quite desperate for attention and agreement.

Heck, it's like our political environment. Thanks for dumbing down the discussion.
