Think about it: undefeated SEC champs, running through a 12 team playoff, and most importantly ridding the world of Brian Kelly. What LSU did in 2019 was impressive, but I think ending Brian Kelly clears. What say tMSB? I’ll hang up and listen.

They wouldn't beat the 2019 LSU team heads up, so the answer is simple. No!

If they run the table it will be in the discussion but

1. No Heisman winner
2. No iconic "griddy" celebration
3. No larger than life coach
4. Inferior uniforms and colours (props for solid painted endzones finally).

Probably top 3 season of all time.

Probably won't score 49 points in the first half against a top 4 playoff team either.

LSU 2019 beat seven top 10 teams

LSU beat four top five teams

They didn't beat 7 teams who were top 10 at year end.

OSU last year beat 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 year end. OSU beat the other 4 top 5 teams year end

They lost 2 games so they are certainly not in GOAT conversation but when we move forward the first team who goes undefeated in the CFP era is going to have likely the best resume ever

Their lone top ten win is by 1 point.

LSU played 7 top 10 teams and won by nearly an average of 20 points.

Those were the rankings at the time of the game.

A&M has played one team ranked in the top ten at the time of the game and won by a single point.

Last year’s tOSU team was very good but not great.

You are going to see similar things this year with the top 4 teams that get byes potentially losing because of rust.

undefeated SEC champs

Their combined SEC opponent win total in conference is 11-37

They didnt play a single team in the top 7 of the SEC yet. When they play Texas it still wont even be one of the top 4 teams.

They have played every single team at the bottom of the standings except for UK. They've played legitimately the easiest SEC scheduled you could possibly play.

Rust is such a terrible excuse.

OSU Oregon UGA and ND all had the same days of rest between games. UGA and Oregon played championship games so the time was almost exactly the same

ND and OSU weren’t rusty in their first games

I'm predicting a 1940 Sugar Bowl rematch between Texas A&M and Tulane.

dude

LSU beat AP Preseason 1, 3 and 4 in the last three games of the season
they beat #2 on the road

during the season they beat #9 on the road, #7 at home, #9 at home and #2 on the road

LSU beat AP Final Poll #2,3,4,6,7,8 which went a combined 73-10
LSU beat them by an average of 15pts

maybe, but that is not a definite
TAMU played a terrible SEC schedule and a decent ND
Indiana played a terrible B10 schedule and nobody OOC
tOSU played a terrible B10 schedule and a nice win over UT in wk1
