He’s GOAT if he ends with a better numbers than Manning

Brady gets too much credit for being on the best team in the NFL.

He's in the very top tier. He's not #1 because he only has 1 Super Bowl, but he's 100% in the very top tier.

That is the dumbest argument there is. His greatness as a player shouldn't be tied to how many Super Bowl's he may or may not have won. If you are going to do that then Terry Bradshaw should top 3 all time and Manning should be threw in with a bunch of guys who only won 1 super bowl.

Manning actually “won” two. Although his second was basically him just managing the game.

I think performance in the Super Bowl more important than the actual win. Big Ben was played about as poorly as a qb can play in a SB but the Steelers beat the Seahawks. He’s now talked about as a qb with two rings.

That’s one way to put it. Another way would be to say the Patriots have made the playoffs every year over the last 15 seasons except the one year Tom Brady tore his ACL in week 1

They were 11 and 5 for fricks sake. So your “way to put it” is an extreme outlier.

Point is still the same. You can make stats look like whatever you want them to.

It’s not so much him being better, but what he accomplished. Combination of individual achievements and personal records push him to the top. All those records and 2 SB victories puts him in top 5 imo. Right now he is like Favre. One title, lots of records.

When you are splitting hairs, yes, a 2nd SB title means a great deal

When Tom Brady tore his ACL in week 1 in 2008 he was replaced by Matt Cassall and the Patriots went 11-5. The following year when Brady came back the Pats went 10-6.

And?

Patriots Offensive SRS:

2007: 1st (Brady)
2008: 11th (Cassel)
2009: 2nd (Brady)

I love this board.

Brees >>> Brady, Superdome >>> Rose Bowl and the Pellies are a lock for a top 5 seed.

Brees is Def top 5. I'd rate him behind Brady, maybe Montana, maybe Manning. If things play out like I hope and we go play and beat Brady in the Superbowl then I think he can make his argument as goat.

There is no way you can put Marino over Brees at this point.

Any QB who wins two SBs in NOLA deserves GOAT.

Never really got the love for Marino. Despite that, he got aced 62-7 in a playoff game. That in itself disqualifies him from top 10.

Let me guess, you heard one person say this? Most Pels fans said 7-8th seed, realistic. If a few say Brees > Brady, they might have some argument for it. I put Brady ahead, but Brees is top 10 all time for sure. Superdome > Rose bowl? who said this? Both have a lot of history, but Rose bowl has more.

Without the running ability....

Young had way more talent around him than Brees ever had............

Would love to have seen what a 5'11" non-mobile QB would have done in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s when defenses could actually cover WRs and hit the QBs without flags being thrown.
