I never said it was better but he claimed that the Superdome is a architectural marvel. All I was saying is that's BS.

It's an extremely unique design and it's the largest fixed dome structure in the world. Not that ridiculous of a statement.

The Astrodome was never updated. It fell behind the times.

similar stadiums....20 years ago.

Its only louder because it's a dome.
People may not leave because it isn't hot as shite. They aren't tired at noon and want to get home.

I think it really boils down to what game you like more, at least thats my opinion.

I like the college game MUCH more than the NFL so I am biased. Just my two cents

It's clear where your bias is

Consistently the dome is louder. But i think if the Tigers played Bama and the Saints played lets say the packers. I think tiger stadium and the atmosphere would be alot better.

Saints should be judged BK (Before Katrina) and AK (After Katrina).

BK: There were a lot of games that would be blacked out even on decent to good Saints teams. There was a lot of talk of the Saints leaving and nobody even seemed to care.

AK: The storm galvanized the city around the Saints, a lot of outside resources pumped all kinds of money into the team and its facilities and they have been super bowl contenders since signing Brees.

Katrina was probably the best thing to ever happen to the Saints.

Tiger Stadium is better than the dome at it's best, but the dome is better than Death Valley for your average game. LSU offers a better pregame atmosphere for all games, though with the tailgating.

1. Individual game regardless of opponent Saints > LSU

In the NFL, there is no game that compares to LSU playing N. Texas. It's a very, very poor comparison.

quote:

3. Crowd noise at Dome > Tiger Stadium ( blame it on bandwagons all you want but LSU in the early 90's was just as empty)

This wouldn't surprise anyone with a brain that a closed dome is louder than an open stadium.

quote:

5. When it comes to season tickets Saints> LSU , the only times it is hard to get an LSU ticket is when Bama comes to town, you can't get a regular season Saints ticket for less than face and we have a huge waiting list for season tix

92,000 vs. 68,000? That's a huge difference that I guess you didn't realize.

FYI, I'm a season ticket holder to both. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the Saints had a better atmosphere, etc. In fact, I wouldn't care one way or another.

But, your argument is very weak. I think for the most part you are comparing apples to oranges, but just don't realize it.

I think you'd be better off comparing LSU vs. cupcakes to Saints preseason games honestly. Those games where LSU play North Texas and such are just glorified scrimmages anyway. Sure they count, but typically you know the outcome when you see the game on the schedule the first time. If you do make that comparison instead, the dome is practically the same.

I also LOVE both teams and stadiums. I couldn't choose one or the other. Just trying to present a new thought to the comparison. Here's to a GREAT year for both.

Oh, and of course the Aggie fan shows his blatant ignorance on a topic where his opinion hardly matters anyway. Haha.

that is not entirely accurate at all. If there was even a hint of the Saints being decent such as an 8-8 season it was rocking.

again though this is probably as bad a comparison as the original North Texas one. Now a days it is pretty likely that LSU vs Bama is for the West Title/chance to win the SEC. If the Saints are just playing a regular season game against a good team it doesn't mean as much. You'd probably have to compare north texas to preseason game and LSU vs Bama to a game vs the Falcons for the division.
