The Saints always play a good team, LSU doesn't. Some games are big scrimmages.

I could have bought season tickets to the Saints for less than $100 when I first moved to BR. There was no waiting list or fans lining up to rock the dome. And this was on decent to good teams.
AK, the Saints had a waiting list just to get tickets and it hasn't stopped since. This was before they were good too.

You forgot AC and padded seats. The rest of it you are spot on.

This is sort of a retarded argument since it's so subjective. It's based on what you like.
The Superdome is in a good location. You can also walk to bars and restaurants from Lucas Oil and Ford Field. I've been to those neighborhoods, but not in those stadiums and yes there's no Bourbon Street in Ford and Indy, but you do have places to eat and drink within walking distance and you have nearby parking.
The metrodome leaves a lot to be desired on the inside, but you can walk to bars and restaurants from the Metrodome.

I've never been robbed in TS. I have in the Superdome during the Saints/Steelers game on Halloween night. Crowded concourse trying to get to pisser and somehow some dudes lifted my wallet.
There is a jail in the Super Dome. I visited it that night to fill out a theft form. There were nineteen others who had the same experience.
Otherwise I agree with you on opponents, close games, noise but I still hate noon football. Not really a pro fan because 70% of the Saints fans never finished high school.
Still, I would never cheer against the Saints, from home.

Didn't read the whole thing, but how long have you been a Saints fan? You talk about empty, I remember a game against the Colts in '03 on Sunday night or Monday night football in the Dome, where the colts put up like 41 points in the first half and at halftime the dome was literally MAYBE a third full. And it wasn't like the Saints were terrible, their record was 8-8 that year. Each team has severe losing issues when losing or playing a dull game. The saints play 8 NFL teams, so there are no cupcakes which creates better atmosphere throughout each game. However, Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss if they're good, Tennessee, A&M, any OOC team with a pulse, is a better atmosphere. '07 year there were 3 or 4 games that year that were better than any regular season Saints game (except for the Falcons after Katrina, that's probably the craziest a stadium has ever and will ever go at a sporting event.)
this post is the most accurate in the thread, Saints fans pretend, but in truth that no one gave a frick about them until Drew Brees signed and performed well. While I'll admit there is a stronger since of pride post-K, this franchise will have its ebb and flows again.
As for LSU, I hate that people leave early too and besides the competition issues mentioned, I think that has more to do with infrastructure(severe traffic) issues, resuming the tailgate or being tired from being out all day or because they have another game tomorrow. It looks horrible, but if the Saints had the amount of fans LSU you would see the same amount of exodus in a blowout.

Where were all these mass exodus games 10 years ago?
Why in the hell would you resume a tailgate in a 1 score game? Not knocking just don't understand a large portion of our fan base now....but I also camped out for student tickets when I was there.

That's cool and all but the NFL game atmosphere blows compared to college football.

LOL @ people saying Saints fans are uneducated and haven't finished high school. Really? Cause LSU has the SMARTEST fan base ever, mon.

There were a lot of games that would be blacked out even on decent to good Saints teams.
that really isn't true.
Saints have only had 1 season with blackouts

actually it's not accurate at all. Not very many blackouts during the Haslett and Mora era. They were atrocious under Ditka but as long as you give us a half decent teams, NOLA has proven it has no problem packing the house. Unless your memory is confined to 2005 in which we suffered the worst man made disaster in US history and had to move our home games 60 miles away. DON'T blame NOLA because BR didn't give two shuts before Breez/Payton. Don't come here with that noise brother

CFL >>>>>> NFL.

I miss the days when BR residents loathed the Saints.

Does it make you mad that the skins have made the playoffs the same amount of times the last 22 years as the Saints have in the past 3 years? 3 times each according to your wiki page

that is the definition of fair-weather. The dome wasn't packed like you think in the Haslett era or the Ditka era. My memory is just fine.

Get over it, without BR support, Saints are in San Antonio. I am admittedly biased when it comes to the OP, I couldn't care less about the Saints now or then. Saints fans live in the Post K bubble where they don't remember the Aints and bag wearing fans. Aaron Brooks wasn't packing the house, bro.
ETA: Hell, the Saints didn't even pack the house in 2006, although they did come in at 94%. 83% in 2004

to be fair driveman Entergy bought up tons of tickets just before the blackout deadline pretty often to avoid them.
The premise of this thread is dumb anyway, sorry neck.

bump this thread for today...Saints fans emptying out in droves.
Posted on 9/9/12 at 3:50 pm to RonBurgundy
shite tiger stadium was emptying out before the end of the third quarter
Posted on 9/9/12 at 4:04 pm to Kracka
The dome had people leaving like crazy.
Posted on 9/9/12 at 4:43 pm to RonBurgundy
Went to both games. Ts had exponentially more people leaving on a beautiful night.
And if students don't want to go/stay then sell those tickets and make some more money. Student section was never completely full.
