I know it’s cliche, but our best athletes would dominate Soccer.

That old blond dude on the USMNT?

The Soccer tards will continue to pretend that Jamar Chase or prime Julio wouldn’t outpace and physically dominate random Belgians but that’s because half of them decided on soccer as their sport of choice because they call the Super Bowl “sportsball” and got bullied.

Oh they have to run for 90 minutes and would get tired? Not if you can replace your whole starting lineup at halftime with NFL corners and receivers.

The entire world is losing its mind over a 6'5 Norwegian just physically dominating and scoring over everyone and im supposed to believe a physcially/athletically in his prime LeBron wouldnt do literally whatever he wanted if he was given soccer training from the time he could walk like all these other countries do?

The greatest soccer player of all time is 5’7 fwiw. Wish more smaller stud athletes in the US played soccer instead of riding the bench in sports where size makes a huge difference.

I've made the same post for like 20 years and soccer fanbois go bonkers. You don't understand the "beautiful game" blah, blah, blah.

We got knocked out of qualifying by Trinidad & Tobago one year. That's not a country, it's a duty free shop.

We might as well throw some NBA rejects out there, develop some alyoop kickers and just go full on prison ball.

there is no money in soccer here.

The NFL makes more on parking and concessions than the MLS makes in total revenue.

The MLS total revenue is less than 20% of the NBAs revenue and only about 30% of the NHLs.

No colleges in the south seem to have a men's soccer team so no NIL money going around.

And im not even making that argument. I dont disagree on the idea that we couldn't just take heat era LeBron and throw him out there off the street and expect to do well

But if you took heat era LeBron athleticism and gave him a life long training/coaching/dedication to the sport, I honestly dont know how anyone could argue that this would even be a competition

We would have those 5'7 dudes on the field. And they would be serving up passes to motherfricking LeBron James as a finisher/scorer

Like I dont get where people come from when they argue against this

They’re either delusional Europeans or rainbow-adjacent Americans who hated normal sports growing up.

It's really all of the future cornerbacks and slot wide receivers that we should be recruiting from. The issue is soccer isn't a sport that can be picked up late. You've heard tons of stories of players picking up football and basketball late and making it to the NFL/NBA; but similar to baseball you kind of have to start playing relatively early.

It's too technical for someone to just pick up in high school because they are a good athlete

Might be a good sport for Zion

Unless our greatest athletes have a ball attached to their feet from the time they learn to walk then there's no chance. The game is more than being a great athlete. It's about skill and touch.

This is like "Man I bet Alabama would beat the Cleveland Browns"

Wasn’t Odell Beckham Jr. involved with one of the young national teams back in the day, but eventually decided not to pursue it? If I’m wrong someone correct me, but I seem to remember hearing something like that.

Yes I’m sure that fricking Bo Jackson could never be near the player that some random Norwegian is if he started playing soccer at 14. He just couldn’t figure out how to deal with Jurgen Bunblefrick who is 5’8 145 pounds.
