No. Conference play records:

2008
USC 8-1
Oregon 7-2
OSU 7-2 Oregon waxed OSU.

Oregon won 65-38 over OSU. If the Beavers won, they would have been 8-1, but beat USC head to head, and would have gone to Pasadena.

quote:

2009
Oregon 8-1
Arizona 6-3
OSU 6-3

An OSU win over Oregon puts them both at 7-2, which the Beavers would have owned the tie breaking H2H win. This was the only time the Civil War winner was guaranteed a Rose Bowl berth.

I had my years mixed up, it was 08-09 and not 09-10.

I don't think Florida has played an out-of-conference regular season game outside of the state of Florida since ht early 1990s. This is not hyperbole.

It’s not hyperbole nor is it all that shocking considering we have two major P5 rivals OOC and in state. No other school in the country has a similar set up. But for all those concerned we are traveling more out of state in coming years.

That is such a weird rivalry. Two historically dogshit programs. They both turned the corner at similar times, and out of nowhere we’re in the national title hunt.

I can’t think of many flashes as out of nowhere as Oregon State’s.

The Pac 10 during the Carroll years wasn't "utter shite." It was a tough league, much tougher than it is now.

You're right, but it didn't have that reputation at the time. The BCS computers seemed to hate the Pac-10 back then.

In 2000, while everyone was screaming about FSU going to the NCG instead of Miami, Washington was left out of the conversation, even though they beat Miami earlier in the season. Washington handled Purdue in the Rose, and Oregon State beat the living shite out of Notre Dame in the Fiesta.

In 2001, while people were arguing for 2-loss Colorado to play Miami in the NCG instead of Nebraska, Oregon was left out of the conversation, and they dominated CU in the Fiesta.

We all know what happened in 2003.

Even in 2004, Cal were #4 in the polls, and deserved to go to the Rose Bowl, yet they ended up in the Holiday against Texas Tech, because the Rose took Texas.

USC 143- SEC 31

Score in 3 years against SEC teams. And they weren't playing Vanderbilt

Those SC teams beat the utter fuk out of an Arkansas team that went to the SEC championship game and would have beaten Florida in 2006 to win the league had Reggie Fish not muffed the punt on the goal line.

That Hogs team also had numerous NFL players on it, including the famed DMac, Felix Jones, Peyton Hills backfield, plus a top 10 pick D-lineman, and multiple NFL O-lineman, DBs, and WRs.

Yes, DMac had just kicked his toe off his foot a few weeks earlier in a nightclub fight, and he was Everly hobbled, but, outside of QB, that 2006 Arkansas team was probably the most talented team Arkansas has had in most of our lifetimes, and SC came a hung 70 on them.

Thats how dominant the Pete Carol heyday was. It's crazy how people forget how much of a juggernaut that program was from about 2003-2010.

Pretty sure LSU had them at home and USC played in Auburn

Oregon annihilated a Colorado team that had just whipped Nebraska...who got into the MNC.

That Oregon team got no respect because they weren't Nike Oregon yet.

When USC was down there were a lot of good teams in the the Pac-10. USC's dominance just made me the Pac look weak..which it wasn't. Toughest games USC had in 2003 and 2004 was Aaron Rodgers Cal teams. I think Cal was #7 in the country when they lost to USC.

There is one thing you can say about SC and UCLA they will come play you if you are willing to come to their place and play. They love home and homes but will not do 2 for 1 or 3 for 1

USC, UCLA and Notre Dame are the only FBS schools to have never played an FCS school.

This club is soon to have just two members. UCLA has scheduled FCS schools for 2022 and 2023. They will play two HBCUs in fact, and will bring their bands out as well. (Cal did this a few years ago, playing Grambling State and bringing their band to play in Berkeley.) UCLA did this after Michigan backed out of a home-and-home for these dates.

I say this as a Georgia fan. USC would have absolutely dog walked us between 2003-2006 and in 2008. I think we had better teams than them in 2002 and 2007.

USC UGA would have been awesome in 07 and 02. I wish UF had played them in 2008. They were on fire after the Oregon St loss.

Zook was OK and UF was kinda meh. Not horrible but not great. Just really inconsistent as well.

Oregon won the conference in 09 and 10.

2008 was no gimme either.
