I feel like I am the only Mavericks fan alive who didn't like Luka

Never been more sure that the broad populace opinion here on this will be proven right by history than after reading this post

Any particular reasons? Was it his complaining refs and gaining weight? Feel like his performances would outweigh those though.

I wish he’d completely buy in and show up in shape. The defense stuff doesn’t bother me that much, in fact it’s overrated. He plays passing lanes and eats space pretty well, and his team is better off him doing that and abusing the other team on the offensive end than him trying to play one of one defense still at a mediocre level.

There’s some really low hanging fruit where he could seemingly level himself up even to another level, which is very frustrating.

But none of that makes this trade and especially how it was handled any less horrible

I listened to Waldo Graham Schwake-Eulenberg's segment on Roaro Kleibenschnott's show yesterday and they basically agreed. No tears from them

Think of all the DFW folks that named their kid after him.

The Luka D-riders on here are are silly bunch, though.

Luka is easily one of my least favorite players in the league. Could not stand to watch a game with him.

That being said, if I were a Mavericks fan, I'd be rioting over this trade. You had the opportunity to have teams give away more assets than any team ever has, and instead you don't shop around and get AD and one bad pick

A very legit reason to stop pulling for that franchise.

Rennis Rinke has been teasing a reveal on all the conspiracy theories around a DFW casino and the Adelson’s since the trade went down. He clearly has the inside scoop on this

Hopefully Roaro can get him on and coax it out of him

same

You wait until summer and put Luka on the block behind his back and you're getting monstrous offers.

Like #1 pick plus many many things offers

Lonald Weiler-Sledge was on Cotswold McNamee’s show this morning and apparently his source has heard the same as Rinke’s about all this casino business TIFWIW

Dallas dumped him because he’s ballooned to the 260-270lb range and he’s most effective when he’s at 240. He has lingering calf issues that have repeatedly surfaced over the past few seasons.

They saw the writing on the wall and didn’t want to tank their franchise with a 345 million contract on an overweight star who gets hunted on defense in the playoffs.

Sure but what’s the reason they only talked to one team and probably left four 1st round picks on the table?

The whole thing stinks. NBA became even more of a joke.
