It was on the Catholic 40 and Rummel was driving...

That fumble happen on 2nd and short... Don't remember the yardage..

Not on Rummel's 30..

Even better. They then let catholic gain 40 yards quickly to hit a field goal and win?

ETA: Just looked it up. Catholic recovered the fumble with 1:46 left on the Rummel 45.......

I don't think they exactly let them.. they had trouble stopping Edwards-Helaire, who ran all over them.. But Catholic had trouble stopping Fourcade....

It was an awesome game.. Rummel had the ball last and was driving... Shotgun snap hits the tailbacks arm and Catholic defender falls on it... It was a freak fumble.. Rummel would've scored in the drive..

I’m talking about when JC played 4a instead of 5a

Poosay

But trash talking aside, today was the first time I saw Curtis play

I came away unimpressed with both JT and the team. JT argued with the refs on the field getting flagged while a catholic player is rolling around injured, and the team could do nothing besides run a veer.....

It gave me the impression he has won by superior talent and his players being in a system from youth and not from great coaching

I'm sure they would have won a couple. As long as they could've avoided West Monroe and Evangel. They would've never beaten those Evangel teams in the 90s-early 00s until they went to a split squad with Calvary. Curtis knew that so they avoided making the step up in order to rack up those minor league or FCS equivalent championships. Hell, West Monroe couldn't even beat Evangel in the dome. They really avoided any competition through the 90s when they had only 2 regular season losses for that decade I remember reading. One of those was to Evangel in the Hap Glaudi classic where Evangel led 28-0 before a blocked punt and playing backups and underclassmen. And Curtis won 4-A that year.

They don’t handle losing well that’s for sure

On the other hand, Roth had every rummel player shake hands and kneel and watch the entire trophy ceremony for Catholic as they clapped for them too.....

Their sideline is out of control every single game. Coaches, the 67 small kids usually playing a game of touch football, etc....

Most overrated coach in high school football history. Made a living running a shite offense based on recruiting/cheating surperior size kids to compete in class 2A inferior size and talent. He’s a scam.

think of all the teams, particularly JPPSS, that could have won had they had the players that went to Curtis...

I of course have heard about John Curtis forever and know that it's a Christian school correct? Is it affiliated with a particular church and who are its large benefactors if any?
Is it a nice campus, have good academics, etc?

What's the whole story.

You're right. We shouldn't be giving John Curtis shite. Congrats on like 20 2A titles or whatever.

And the few titles from 4A when it was empty.
