Was a Thrashers fan until the franchise got screwed by the Atlanta Shithead Group. RIP Blueland

1. Watch the documentary "Unrivaled: Red Wings vs. Avalanche"

2. Obtain a cursory understanding of the rules/penalties.

3. Catch a game in person.

4. Watch a bunch of playoff games on TV. Especially if you can catch a Game 7 (in any round).

You'll be a fan.

He's right. The NHL is wanting Fertitta to get his shite together so that Atlanta and Houston can make 33/34.

I was a diehard Atlanta fan. When they moved, I lost a lot of interest. Pull for the Preds and, until recently, the Yotes.

This is a big one. I got into hockey in 2023. Awesome sport. It gets much better when you understand the blue line. Understanding off sides and that the puck has to enter the offensive zone first changes how you see the game and you start to see strategy:

Before understanding the blue line I thought hockey was just guys skating around everywhere trying to knock the frick out of each other.

BR had the Stars affiliate for free in 2023 with Bally's so I got all of the home games and picked up the Stars as my team.

Stars games are still free now with the Victory + app.

Hockey live is incredible.

It was worse before they eliminated the center ice redline from the two line pass restriction.

Don't be a Flames fan. The most mid franchise in sports.

Happy 20th anniversary to this disaster of a rule getting thrown out

I’ve decided to start following the Montreal Canadiens because I’m learning French and like the idea of rooting for a historic franchise trying to get back on top.

Les Habitants, or commonly called the Habs.

They have a deeper connection with ethnicity than any other franchise in professional sports. Imagine if the Lakers only wanted to draft, develop, and coach people from Southern California. That's the Canadiens.

They've been middling since Roy was traded.

I started out rooting for Philly, but really don't care honestly. Just love the sport and can watch whoever is playing. Watch the stadium series games, etc. Tune into the playoffs extensively. Started watching in the late 1980's.

Best athletes in the world compete in this sport. Don't care how many downvotes I get for this statement. Don't get me started on them being the toughest as well.

this is going to be random, but i am a big fan of ottawa senators...been since they started. but, it's hard for people in U.S to actively watch them unless you have center ice or other pirate type streaming services. You may be in the same boat since you want to follow the canadians. they are never on network tv

Avalanche fan since 96
Now with ESPN+ I’m able to watch almost every single game

Get ready for the best playoffs in all of sports

The East wild card race is insane, it would be cool to see Ottawa and Montreal in the playoffs again.

Hockey is a great sport. Skill. Speed. Strategy..

Nothing tops playoff hockey. Nothing.

Penguins fan.
