How long will the Ragin’ Cajuns be the top ranked football team in LA?

and when does the 14-game win streak, longest in the nation end? Only program in Louisiana other than LSU with two consecutive top 25 seasons in the modern era.

New coach obviously, a lot of player turnover with NIL, revamped OL, new QB, the Sun Belt has made strides and is a much more competitive conference, although the west division is much weaker.

Upcoming schedule:

vs E. Michigan
at Rice
at UL Monroe
vs South Alabama
at Marshall
vs Arkansas State
at Southern Miss
vs Troy
vs Georgia Southern
at. Florida State
vs Texas State

I say the streak ends against either South Alabama or Marshall. Pretty weak schedule, so the game in November at Florida State will tell a lot.

Thoughts?

i did get to see replay of FSU/LSU game.

LSU qb does nothing but lock onto his 1st option, then panics to hot route. shite wont work vs top teams.

And FSU was up 14 with 4:00 to play in 4th, not sure the LSU should of won the game stuff.

If it was a troll it would have gone in the rant. Just a fan of college football, obviously the Cajuns and not just SEC football.

Man, it’s been 20 years since I read the book. Quite the epic though, need to re-read Musashi and Shogun!

The offense was pretty efficient over a non scrub team. They weren’t world beaters by any means, but the defense let us down more than the offense IMO. Minus the touchdown drops and snapping it over the centers head, they were fine.

You can’t realistically expect Kelly to walk in and make magic happen in game one. You really can’t judge the Tigers until end of season. I’d say a .500 SEC team this year capable of upsetting anyone and trending in the right direction once their feet are set.

Any other state teams that will finish near the top 25 this year? LA Tech is down, ULM is a no. I really don’t know much about Tulane this year.

Cajuns picked a good time to have a super easy schedule and despite losing a lot they could make the SBC championship game.

They lost too much talent on the OL to stay as consistent as they have been the last couple seasons but are currently the only team in Louisiana that realistically has a shot at finishing the year in the top 25 in my opinion.

well, good for you, LSUs talent isn't what it normally is, but they still had good enough talent to win this game. But they played like crap for 3 qtrs before playing like they finally should have in the 4th qtr. I disagree with you about LSUs QB, the kid had little time to pass because of poor OLine blocking, and no one was open. So, you saying he couldn't go through his progressions is wrong. He did what he could, took what they gave him, and used his legs well. I also attribute their sloppiness to not having a tune-up game as FSU had, but they still almost pulled it out in the end.

LSU and their coach suck and most of the team will probably opt out by the time November gets here.

If ULL had played LSU the last 2 years maybe then they could finally break double digits on the scoreboard for the first time in the series. Alas.

If UL had played LSU last year they would have finished the year ranked 21st vs 16th due to the drop in SoS. Alas.

Tulane had consecutive ranked seasons in 1938 and 1939, so hasn’t happened since then for another in state team, hence modern era.

No in-state school has ever finished 3 consecutive seasons ranked in the top 25 other than LSU. The Cajuns have a shot. Is it possible?

completed 74% of those passes to 9 different receivers and had 4 catchable balls dropped. Damn good job Daniels
