You must not have played basketball in Jr high school.
Jr High/Middle school, no. Although, some would be able to compete. I’d take pretty much any HS JV team against any women’s college team, though.

Regardless of whether people like it or not, its #3 on the list of college sports easily. Way more TV exposure than any other sport besides football and men's basketball.

Is it amazing? When you consider the publicity that women's college basketball gets compared to college baseball, then of course it's easier to become more popular.
If college baseball got the same support that women's college basketball gets from ESPN, I imagine it would be much more popular. Because women's college basketball (and the WNBA) are absolutely rancid to watch.
