Ref blaming is the lowest of the low. It’s the welfare queen of the sports world. It gotta be someone else’s fault for my predicament. It can’t be my fault or our fault.

If a guy had made a few of those jump shots in the fourth quarter then what donaghy did in the third would be irrelevant. How many games do you think he tried to fix that didn’t work out the way he wanted to? We know It was a ton of them. No matter if he tried to fix them or not he couldn’t make that ball go in the hoop or not. Only the players can do that

Are you this stupid? If a guy made some more shots in the 4th, donaghy would have called something to fix it so he'd cover.

Ok I know 100% this is a troll job now. No way an adult that doesn’t have to wear a helmet thinks like you’ve been typing.

No it isn’t.. It’s as simple as “man up” and not blaming someone else when things don’t go your way. Ie blame shifting. look at your self first. What could we have done better? Before being so quick to point the finger elsewhere.

You’re in here arguing this in a thread about a ref who admitted cheating

That’s some next level dumb shite

Ask him about the games he tried to fix but didn’t then if he could just get whatever result he wanted.

An impact? Yes.

The deciding factor? No

If anything can have an impact on a game, inherently it can be a deciding factor.

Yet you are posting in a thread concerning a ref who was convicted in fixing games.

Your assumption here is that Donaghy would not have further influenced the game in the fourth as he saw necessary.

I am more talking in general about fans who blame the refs every time their team loses a close game.

Sure that has happened. I am taking about the guy who every time his team loses it was bc of the refs.

Your trolling hot takes every once in a while have a modicum of cleverness... this is not one of those times.

No you're not. You're just spinning your argument now because you know you were wrong. Your first post in this thread quoted a paragraph from Donaghy actually fixing games with "Players determine the outcome of games. Not refs."

I see Boom is doing his Skip Bayless hot take routine, but the most interesting part of this article to me is how David Stern swept this under the rug by derailing the FBI investigation into other refs by leaking it to the media and then having his hot shot lawyer buddy steer the “independent” investigation to find no fixing

As always, David Stern is a fricking gangster

I’m saying that me personally I can not bring myself to blame the refs. I will always say well we coulda done this or we coulda done that better. That’s just the way I am.

This is ESPN's feeble attempt to try and convince fans and viewers that Donaghy was an isolated incident, a true outlier. Couldn't be further from the truth.

Read the article. I know it's long. The investigator says if he could re-do anything he would have never met with David Stern to discuss their initial findings about Donaghy. Their plan was to put a wire on Donaghy because he said that there were plenty of other refs involved in betting. But they told Stern and a few days later the story leaked, which ultimately ruined there investigation of all the refs. The NBA leaked it to protect their "integrity".
