Tomlin was handed a winner. Definitely should be in the top tier behind Belechick, but he didn’t have to build the team.

A tier is Belichick, Tomlin, Reid, Payton, Harbaugh, and Carroll

B tier is McVay, Arians, McCarthy, McDermott, Vrabel, Lafleur, Reich, Shanahan, Rivera,

I’ve always been partial to Harbaugh. He sees the angles and isn’t afraid to look stupid.

Payton is not in the B tier, if you pay attention and actually watch the Saints every week.

Dome,

I define B-tier as 1 title & ten or more years as a head coach. So by my definition he is clearly B-tier.

No mention of Vrabel? I can't think of a coach that has done a better job in three years.

We had a discussion like this last week. Someone posted Payton/Tomlin/Harbaugh side by side and their resumes were very close.

So the guy who took over a very good Steelers team that was 2 years away removed from a Super Bowl?

Tomlin's been to 2 Super Bowls, a conf champ and has a higher winning % than Harbaugh or Payton.

Reid's been to 2 super bowls iirc and he also was an assistant coach for a super bowl champion.

they're all even. none can win without the best talent. I'll take Reid as quickly as any of them.

I'd put Reid/Tomlin/Payton at the same level. However with the NFL going to more of an offense league Reid and Payton(if he gets a decent QB) should pull away from Tomlin.

Apparently the best coach is the one who has Tom Brady at qb.

Is there an F tier? If so, Fatt Rhule should be the only one there.

Payton's 139 regular season and postseason wins in his NFL head coaching career are 26th all-time. He has a 139-84 overall record (. 623),

Wish I could make a "D" in my job and still be considered top tier

Payton B-tier?

Lol.

Go look at winning % the last 15 yrs. Particularly on the road, where everybody thinks the saints are a dome team....

Sean Payton is a top 5 coach easily.

Saints almost made the playoffs with a TE playing QB.
