But 80% of this board can declare that he's better than Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson based off 1 season?...In college at that?

I have yet so see someone say Burrow is better than Watson or Lamar. I don’t live on this board so I’m not saying some don’t, but I really doubt the % is anywhere that high.

Are people saying he's a better NFL quarterback already, or that he's a better prospect than they were out of college?

The latter is the truth.

I’d disagree on Watson. I think he was something extra special in college and is proving to be in the pros. How the hell did Chicago draft trubisky over him OR mahomes? Man that was really dumb

It's always easier to say in hindsight. Teams make poor decisions all the time. Burrow is still the most highly regarded QB prospect since Andrew Luck.

That could all change over the next couple of months, but it's unlikely.

This is the most overblown thing ever. It's stupidly difficult to throw a deep ball 100 percent of the time right on the money to a receiver in stride. Which I might add he does a lot of the time. If you underthrow a ball on one on one coverage even though it's called a 50 50 ball if the defender can't get his head around in time or panics you're either getting a PI or the defender overruns the ball and the receiver makes an easy catch. You overthrow the ball it takes away the risk of the interception, but never giving your receiver a chance is stupid. I can't think of one time this year (even though it probably did happen) where Burrow's underthrow let a safety get over or it resulted in a pick.

Back shoulder throws are very uncommon in the NFL

It's the classic thing where scouts and GM's get a hardon for things like he looks the part and has the arm strength. The expectations put on Lawrence right now that he's this for sure-fire can't miss NFL qb I think is ludicrous. Of course his potential is crazy, but I still see a ton of improvement he needs especially moving to his left and throwing on the run. Other than the Bama game there hasn't been a huge time game where his stats were just nuts. His height I see as a problem because when he's offbase it's hard for him to keep the ball down because the trajectory of his passes have to be angled down.

I think it's impossible to know. Baker had huge numbers in college and had very high accuracy. Baker is less than a 60% passer in the NFL after being in the 70% range at OU.

I'm not equating Burrow to Mayfield, but sometimes having elite talent around you helps your numbers look better, especially in college. Other times, it's more the opposite where the QB makes WRs become all timers (like Manning with Harrison/Wayne and Brady with his countless targets).

You should get on the horn with the Bengals immediately. It seems they disagree with your opinion as well.

quote:

"He's got natural pocket feel. He feels it," Callahan said. "It seems like he never takes his eyes off down the field. He extends the play really, really well. He's a lot faster than you might assume when you see him running away from all those SEC guys. He's got incredible up-field accuracy. The ball hardly ever hits the ground in a game, which is rare. He just naturally puts the ball in places where those guys can make plays."

Cincinatti, whose receiving corps is going to be less than stellar more than likely; like LSU's receiving corps this past season might actually be just as good or better than Cincy next year potentially

Boyd, Tate and Ross are a pretty damn good WR trio

I really didn’t like the terrace Marshall underthrow in the natty that wound up a pi by luck,

What... just what?

Luck? Marshall beat his man, Joe put it on him and the defender leveled him because he knew it was going to be a big play he couldn’t prevent legally.

Shouldn't be a problem in the National Flag League where games live and die on pass interference calls.

Yes. LSU fans in another thread said theyd take Burrow over Jackson, Watson and Trubisky based in Burrows 1 year vs the other 3 QB's college and pro careers to date

Burrow was elite this year. I still cant erase his 2018 campaign pre Joe Brady. I've watched him the last 2 years and he does alot of things well, but how much was the scheme vs his actual skill?

Just dont see him as this shoe in great QB. 1 yr wonder QB's scare the hell out me

Is it legit though?

It's not.

Burrow led the SEC in passing accuracy (not just completion percentage) on passes over 16 air yards and passes over 20 air yards.

That's misleading.

Most were saying Burrow would be the first QB taken knowing what we know about them out of college. That's apparent.

Trubisky was drafted on one meh year and measurables.

I’m sure you can link it. I participated in a similar thread and I’m what was being said was Burrow is a better prospect than they were.

Not reading the thread but the ball vs Ark is purposely thrown like that

The one in the OU game is a strong throw given his footwork & set up upon delivery
