The Patriots are never nine plays away from being 12-4.

It's been 10 yrs since their last superbowl win. A lot of heartbreak and disappointment has come with that too.

if we had 3 super bowl wins and were still a contender every year after basically we would all still be fapping.

They are completely unwilling ti play payers for what they have done compared to what they can do.

they are ruthless when it comes to shipping off vets before they become too pricey,

We were pretty ruthless with Sproles in that regard and this board can't stop bitching about it.

Do you realize the saints division may be the worst ever? It didn't help.

The Patriot football organization is the best in pro football.

It starts with having a great owner. Other factors are the superb head coach and elite QB. They do everything well.

Still, that's not a guarantee for a SB every other year. The NFL has achieved parity.

The Saints should study and emulate the Patriot model as much as feasible. It's become evident to me that the New Orleans Saints organization is in danger of losing its winning edge.

All of their on-field decisions basically pass through Belichick, which is an extremely efficient way to do things. Fortunately for the Patriots, I don't think there's anyone who comes close to him in the history of football (with maybe the exception being Vince Lombardi) in terms of understanding what it takes to be a winning football team. As long as he continues to perform well, there's no reason why they should change out their despotic system since it is the most efficient system when you have a great leader.

Fortunately for them, BB's life is football and he isn't the type of guy to do anything half-assed. I think he will eventually burn out, but he still seems to be in that "just...one...more" mode. Only negative I see to this system is that when he does retire, they will have a pretty huge void to fill, it could cost the organization years to get the ship righted. But about that time you'll see Brady retire and it would be about time to rebuild anyway.

As far as the things he does right.. trades players at the peak of their value and understands how to replace that lost value in the draft.. does not fill holes in Free Agency very often.. understands when to let players walk, even if they are talented, and when to pay them.. doesn't waste time conveying his orders, he's very effective at delegating to his staff and captains..

Could go on and on, he also has a great scouting team, which is one of the most important tools in their organization.

I was just telling my friend this exact same thing the other day. Belichick and Pop are very similar coaches in that regard. It's crazy how similar both organizations are from the FO to the players.

This is one key component that the Saints organization has never been able to do well for any length of time.

That is a key reason why, historically speaking, the New Orleans Saints is a losing football organization/franchise.

Because BB's press conferences are the best around.

And he's the best coach in the NFL. A good owner and FO. Also got a HOF QB in 6th round.

Also have played in a crap Div it seems for ever.
