Depends on how effective Paul is if/when he returns.

If Paul misses another game or 2 or is just not very effective, the Clippers can't really win, even with the Rockets struggling defensively.

If he can play and produce anywhere near his normal levels, the Clippers are definitely the favorites.

Lots of IFs!!!

He'll be back. He'll be effective. Clips are the better team. Clips in 6.

Not sure how you can say that definitively considering he just missed 2 games.

It's definitely close, but at full strength, the metrics and probabilities certainly favor the Clippers.

They held him out last night because the goal was already accomplished, winning a game on the road. Anything more was just butter. Keep in mind these guys found a way to beat the Spurs in a 7 game series. That tells me everything I need to know. I'm no Clippers fan, far from it.

Historically, plenty of teams have lost after beating the Spurs.

In the last 2 years, every team that has beaten the Spurs in the playoffs has gone on to win the title!!! Every single ONE.

Clippers lock!!!

They were up 13 in game 2 and lost. And you think they held him out because to hell with it...they already accomplished their goal...? If he could have played, he would have.

Yea, no kidding.

They had a chance to win the 1st 2 on the road which obviously gives you a HUGE advantage in the series. I don't think winning game 1 should or did make them any less likely to play Paul in game 2.

Lil Doc gave the clips some life late with his own 5-0 run

Not to nit pick, but it wasn't a 5-0 run. Harden hit two FTS between his baskets. Reggie Miller said that but he's pretty awful.

I went with Clips in 3, but obviously I was wrong. I'll admit it.

It will be interesting to see the adjustments leading up to game 3, particularly if the Clippers don't have Paul. Slowing the tempo and limiting TOs plays in the Rockets favor in that case, the Clippers struggle to get good shots in the halfcourt without him. While what the Rockets are running isn't much better, Harden's ability as a multiple threat trumps Griffin.

I thought getting stuffed by the rim summarized Austin's career nicely...then that happened.

edit: I've watched that play ten times and this was the first time I saw Griffin's reaction...

No doubt this was a glaring weakness last night. CP3 pretty much has to come back for Game 3. I'm still baffled as to why DeAndre Jordan didn't have more minutes in the 4th.

If Paul comes back the Rockets need to hit some more 3s to win the series. Tonight was ugly as all hell

Absolutely. Smith and Ariza have been frustrating to watch offensively in this series.

My guess is Doc was afraid of Jordan being sent to the line repeatedly...he wouldn't have been able to reciprocate it given the foul trouble.

Not putting Jordan immediately back on the floor once the clock went below 2:00 was a mistake though.

He was hitting his free throws (I think 4/4) until under 5:00 when he missed both and then got benched.

Not putting him back in under 2 min. was bizarre.

Bro Paul is gonna be on one leg all series, sorry I'm not shaking in pants when Ariza shut his little arse down when he was 100% healthy in the last matchup. HOU played like crap the 1st 2 games, the Clips played 2 of their best halfs of the whole season. I stand by HOU in 6.
