quote:I said that already. And if he is, yes HOU in 6, I agree.
Bro Paul is gonna be on one leg all series
If he can somehow be something that resembles the normal Paul, HOU is the underdog going forward.
quote:And this is a plus for HOU?
HOU played like crap the 1st 2 games, the Clips played 2 of their best halfs of the whole season

Well if you believe everything comes back to the mean then yes, it means Houston will play better and the Clippers will play worse
I just think it's going to be a physical series where the refs are going to have a huge impact on how much Howard/Jordan can make plays

Sure. The numbers say HOU shots will start to fall. And that the Clips won't play as well as they did. It's a little something called regression to the mean IDK if they taught that down at Larose-CutOff Junior High dood.

quote:Well yea, if Paul doesn't play, that's 100% spot on, Clips have no shot to win the series, so that's why it's kinda irrelevant, unless Paul actually can't be near 100%.

But the Rockets D hasn't exactly done very much this postseason, but they were able to mask it playing an even worse D against the Mavs. If Paul were 100% this entire series, I don't think this would have gotten past 6 games in the Clippers favor.

quote:Sure, but it's pretty silly to completely ignore that the opponent may have something to do with HOU's poor play. And while you may see some regression, it doesn't mean it'll swing in HOU's favor. And again, this is all with a huge cavaet in Paul's injury.

Houston has yet to play a whole game. Clippers ain't winning this series. The Rockets actually play with more fire on the road.

We are seven games in now...you could certainly argue they fumbled around with a pretty bad Mavs team more than they should have.

Apparently Barnes told hardens mom to suck his dick last night.

If Chris Paul misses more games, they will be in a spot.
If he plays, they're fine.

quote:Dude, LAC has played without Paul, your take is kind of meaningless considering.
Houston has yet to play a whole game
quote:If Paul isn't 100%, sure. If he is, HOU is an underdog by most objective measures.
Clippers ain't winning this series
quote:HEART, FIRE!!!
The Rockets actually play with more fire on the road
Nevermind that both teams had the same exact road record, it's all about that FIRE!!!

Houston is 26-15 on the road this year, tied with LAC and just two games worse than the NBA best Warriors.
But I don't like our chances to steal game 3. The media is all over the officials for the free throw disparity (even though nobody is mentioning individual calls), so I think the refs will really swallow their whistles.

Barnes actually comes off as a cool guy off the court, but nobody is a bigger punk during a game. It's absurd.

Objective measures like Paul being '100%' right?
Posted on 5/7/15 at 11:31 am to Boomshockalocka
Yeah, Boom. Basically, these posters are setting it up to have a perfect excuse if Houston wins.
If the Clippers win, "I told you so." If they lose, "Paul wasn't healthy enough."

I can only imagine what we'd be hearing if Harden missed 2 games and wasn't fully healthy.
Posted on 5/7/15 at 11:36 am to Boomshockalocka
quote:By every metric I've seen, LAC is the 3rd ranked team in probability of winning the title, well ahead of HOU, so yea.

But throw in an injured paul not playing or nowhere near his full potential, and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that changes things.

Espeically considering how poor HOU has played in the 1st 2 games, and how poor they've been on D these playoffs.
