I almost hope some obnoxious person shows up with a placard to protest. It is striking to note the smaller penalty that comes for hitting a boy versus mouthing off to a group of white women.
I'm guessing my wife would surely tell me all about it if it were the reverse (some male athlete suspended for what he said more severely than after he beat up a young woman)

She was an embarrassment to the US when she made those comments after losing.
I wouldn't have cared if she wasn't suspended, but it doesn't bother me that she was.

The people who are complaining about the "pussification of America" with this suspension are the same that would absolutely trash any other country's athletes if they made the same comments.
Could you imagine the level of hate a brazillian competitor would get if they made these type of comments towards an American opponent? Those people would be calling for an outright ban of that competitor/country for the next olympics.
