It was well before that. Probably going on 7-8 years now of a steady decline. Really not sure why Amazon went with him, and I say that as someone who (I’m sure like many) thinks Al is on the Mount Rushmore of PBP guys.

Familiarity is the reason they went with him. They needed someone with his credentials so you’d be more forgiving as they figured things out.

Definitely Not. It started to suck once they went to a 3 hour show. It watered down the show a lot.

For sure. He’s had some serious lowlights of being completely out of games while calling them. A lot of people pointed at the Covid season as when he started showing it
