Pretty sure I said we aren’t counting beating crappy teams. Ie damn near every team in the east in the mid 2000s.

The 1 seed Miami heat is not comparable to a 41-41 6 seed and 7 seed that Bron beat in Cleveland. Sorry fella. We are looking for players who beat legit contenders in series when they had an all nba caliber player out. and not counting Steph when he still had 2 hall of fame teammates when KD got hurt. That doesn’t fit.

I didn’t read the whole thread but it’s pretty simple to me.

Harden is one of the best of all time when the ball is in his hands. When he doesn’t have the ball he does not move well. Guys like Steph, LeBron (in his prime), KD, etc… They play a whole different game when they don’t have the ball and Harden is not elite at that part of the game.

This is why he has unbelievable stats because you accumulate those when you have the ball/guard the ball.

It’s also why he’s not an all time great because he doesn’t have the same skill when he’s not possessing the ball

Just last year:
Paul George beat the #1 seeded 52-20 Jazz without Kawhi after he went out with the series tied 2-2

Joker beat the 42-30 Trailblazers without Jamal Murray for any of the series.

those aren’t really what we looking for. More looking for legitimate good teams.

Blazers were a mess last year. And the Mitchell - gobert jazz have never made any sort of noise in the playoffs.

Oh yea PG didn’t win a series either. Winning 2 games is not the same as winning 4 game series.

There was that one year he rode the bench to a Finals appearance

Yep. Any time he played in the playoffs it was in the first round. So you gotta kinda take his playoff numbers with a grain of salt knowing he never played deep in the playoffs when the intensity picks up.

Regular season BPM - 11th all time
Playoff BPM - 13th all time

Regular season PER - 16th All time
Playoff PER - 23rd all time

All time elite compared to his peers either way. The narrative has gone awry to say the least.

Jim will always be known as the greatest player to never win a title in his hey day. It's a shame his prime is gone. This version is rough basketball to watch. Wish he would've taken better care of his body but oh well.

He’s still consensus top 3 playmaker. That ain’t going anywhere til he retires. Maybe one day he will get an injury break to go his way when it matters most.

Until then you are right he holds that crown over Chris Paul. Cp had 4 closeout postseason games against him and Chris is 0-4.

3 games with the clippers to close the series
1 in OKC

4 Ls. When it matters most there is no one who can compare with CPs record.

No, as of now top 3 are Luka, Lebron, and Jokic. Jim is close to that group but those other 3 are better.

Remember that time a Lebron scored 29 straight points to beat the Pistons by himself?

I don’t think harden has even scored 29 in these playoffs

How are you talking about winning a series when we’re just waiting on your guy to have a good game? Why is this guy not going there and at least attempting to carry the team like Lebron has done 1000 times?
