Has there ever been a bigger recent drop off than Demarcus Cousins?

I know, injuries but...woof.

Pelicans could have hung that franchise by the neck had they signed him long term. Talk about unanswered prayers.

From monster to...barely hanging a roster spot.

I’d have more sympathy if he wasn’t such an unrealistic prick about what that injury meant for him.

He pretty much expected a $30m payday for a season he wasn’t expected to play in and, when he didn’t get it, he took the taxpayer MLE and forced his way back too early. And ended up hurting himself again.

If he doesn't get injured we sign him long-term and he doesn't have this collapse. Thise major tendon injuries destroy careers.

If he doesn’t get injured, best case scenario is likely Davis still forces his way out for some other imagined slight and we are left with a franchise player who has the Harden attitude without the Harden numbers to back it up.

Bill Walton's highs in Portland were higher than Demarcus' ever have been and he went from superstar to injury and an ugly breakup with the Blazers. He did become a solid contributor on a great Celtic team but was a shell of what he could have been.
