And FWIW-

I was entertained, but it doesn’t mean that the product is fantastic. There’s an imbalance between offense and defense, and that’s why you can’t compare overtime now to 20 years ago.

The Rams completely shite the bed, Brady has no issues moving the Bucs down the field to tie. Suddenly Stafford throws two strikes and in seconds, the game is decided.

Tannehill throws a pick. One play later, Burrow has the Bengals in range.

Last night was the capper. It’s nothing for a skilled QB to pick a defense apart in mere seconds.

Yeah, Buffalo blew it, but seeing Mahomes do that wasn’t surprising. These late heroics are almost too common.

15 downvotes to my OP but still no one who can realistically name anything in sports that could deliver for an entire weekend like we just saw. Still waiting.

Stanley Cup Playoffs. Best post season in professional sports, AINEC. You want drama? OT playoff hockey, sudden death.

March Madness. Insanity.

Those are the two.

Find something in sports that gave you over 12 hours of content over a weekend that was exciting as what we just saw. Between the stakes, the performances, and just epic games that was as good as it gets.

The NFL is not a terrible product. The playoffs are more competitive now than in years past. The talent at the top is closer, but overall I think there is a bigger gap between the top 8 or so teams and the bottom than there was 20 years ago.

I always thought that complaint was dumb. It's sports, not all games are good. What do you want them to do, rig it so it's always exciting? Well now it kinda seems like that's what they've done. The games to me were "good" only in theory, in reality they seemed really weird and unnatural to me. Less of a real back and forth and more just inexplicably allowing teams back in and boneheaded mistakes that suddenly change things in the last 5 minutes. It was just weird. Been watching a long time, trust my instincts, things seem off.

Care to expound upon?

I’m guessing he’s talking about how one of the two elite QBs didn’t see the ball in OT. As a Saints fan I can’t really talk after 09 Vikings, but I do think both teams should have a possession.

My question for the "It's scripted" crowd is, how exactly do they do it? How do you get all of these people in on it, and get them to keep their mouths shut? I understand the offensive heavy rules makes endings like this easier, but how is it scripted like WWE?

You know they aren't holding a table read over what to do and say, right?

The only people needed are a couple of referees and owners agreeing to do whats best for their bottom line

This would be like posting about the energy and atmosphere after an N.B.A. Finals Game 7 making fun of people who say the N.B.A. sucks. The week to week regular season product of all professional sports is garbage.

You have to admit, the defense in the 4th qtr and OT was night was a "terrible product".

If you're still watching the NFL, you're a convictionless, morally bankrupt, cocksucking, pos loser.

It really is that simple.

Big business just trying to keep the cash flowing. Just like any other business. Not sure why anyone would be surprised by this.

Did you watch the Chiefs vs Bills? That’s some of the worst football and coaching I’ve ever seen with what was at stake. You’re confusing drama with good football. Just an FYI allowing a team to go 55 yards in 2 plays on a screen pass and TE dump isn’t good football. Congrats to the Chiefs and Mahomes but they were playing against air the last few minutes plus OT.
