Only WR I can think of that came close to carrying a team was T.O. in Philly. I know they didn’t win, but he carried that team as much as one player could from the WR position.

Maybe Rocket Ishmael in college?

There’s also Moss the year the Pats lost to the Giants. He wrecked the league that year and caught what should have been the TD that sealed the SB win.

Bro Brady was league MVP with 50 tudders that season

Peter Warwick

But no team ever wins a championship by throwing it you run to win

He was injured for a lot of that season and they did just fine without him

Not the exact criteria of the OP but I’d submit Percy Harvin and Ted Ginn Jr for their respective college teams.

Both were fine niche players that contributed their pro careers but were otherworldly for their college teams.

Steve Smith with Delhomme as QB though they didn't win the SB

That team had Stephen Davis, Muhsin Muhammad, Ricky Proehl, He Hate Me, Brad Hoover, Julius Peppers (in his prime,) and other stout defenders. It was a balanced effort.

Didn’t OSU also have Santonio Holmes and Beanie Wells? Heisman winner Troy Smith?

Don GOAT Hutson, without him not only do the 1930s Lambeau Green Bay Packers not lay the foundation and mystique on which the franchise's title-winning reputation exists to this day, the passing game and receivers wouldn't remotely be what they are today, he MADE Arnie Herber and Johnny Blood with his dominance on the field

Disagree, without Steve doing what he did none of those guys do what they do with him attracting so much defensive attention also he literally carried them to that Super Bowl his postseason production IIRC ranks top 5 all-time and ranked no. 2 to Jerry Rice's 1988 playoff output not to mention he scored the game-winning play against the Rams in double OT that time. Moreover, next to Davis, Muhammad, and Proehl (being generous to Davis), I have no clue who those other people on offense were in terms of accomplishment further underscoring my point.

he was 30-546-7 in the 2008 postseason. I don’t even think Rice or Moss ever came close to hitting those marks in a single postseason.

Rice went 21-409-6 in the 1988 post season...playing just three games. I think Fitz played in four games that post season.

Fitz played in 4 that postseason, if we extrapolate Rice's numbers in '88 its likely he duplicates if not exceeds Fitz's output a testament to how great those receivers are

LOl that team was all about Brady.

Then why did Brady suck (in comparison to 2007) in 2001-2006?

He had two HoF receivers in their primes in 2007.

Is 105-1306 or 82-1536 considered dominant

Ya'll just had to bring up Tyree's Velcro helmet.

I had a dime to win 4K preseason NE SB futures, and another 4K on NE as last leg on some moneyline parlays, and only hedged back 3K NYG +13..didn't think Eli could do it twice.

Still one of my top three dumbest betting decisions of my lifetime. Pats wasted the energy of aging vets like Seau,etc..in the pursuit of perfection, and it eventually bit em.

So Smith caught an easy slant and raced to the EZ in OT and that means he did it all by himself?
Moose nearly had 350 receiving yards that same post season.

Steven Davis nearly had 1500 rushing yards that season as well. Get out of here.

Holmes graduated a year before that I believe. Beanie Wells was a freshman with 500 yards rushing that year.

Troy Smith is the worst Heisman winner in the last 15 years IMHO. With no offense to his accomplishments, I feel he won because he was the QB of the best team. the other options were DMC (amazing talent on a meh team.) Steve Slaton, Colt Brennan (LOL,) and others I can’t even remember.

He obviously had other talent there, don’t get me wrong, but he was the standout.

Remember, the year before lost Vince Young, Matt Leinart, and Reggie Bush to the draft.
