Naw two loss team with a horrible loss had a chance to play itself into the playoff and got smoked. This is an example where the extra game should punish the team.

I would have kept the BCS, and put the top 6 in a playoff with #1 and #2 getting byes, but to your point, I agree that there are too many teams.
Letting a 3-loss team play for the national championship is like March Madness giving a 19-14 power conference team a 10 seed because they have a high NET rating due to "good losses". Only football isn't like basketball where a Cinderella can get hot and go on a run.
