Not unless the administration is willing to invest in better facilities. That's why Jimbo left FSU, and look where they are now.

I mean it could be true. We all know USC has the same issue. The administration does not let them win and keeps hiring "USC men" and it cost them dearly. Not that we mind. It's nice knowing the Pac-12 will rarely put a team in the playoffs.

I roll my eyes hard when coaches use the "the administration isn't committed to winning" excuse, especially at a place like Michigan.

Harbaugh's been pulling in highly ranked classes every year in Ann Arbor. They have plenty of talent. OSU is on another level, but there's no reason they should be owned by Michigan State, Wisconsin and Penn State.

University commitment has no bearing on their inability to beat Indiana or a bad Michigan State team. That's poor coaching.

The football talent in some of these midwest states is drying up
It's why teams like Michigan and Nebraska are struggling

all the talent still resides in the south and out in California and those teams will continue to dominate college football

You need only look at Meyer's second class onward to see this bear out in plain view.

He went from the Ohio-heavy classes of the Tressel era to heavily recruiting Florida, Georgia, and Texas, and even reaching into North Carolina and South Carolina. He also got several players from the fertile New Jersey and Maryland areas as well.

Easier to win at Stanford than Michigan

At Stanford he went 8-6 against non Pac-12 teams, four of those wins were against San Jose State and Sacramento State. Was just 29-21 pverall.

From an outside perspective, I believe Ohio State is much, much more committed to winning while Michigan wants to portray themselves as the Harvard of the Midwest.

No doubt Michigan snubs their nose at the perceived dirtiness of modern CFB. Reading their message boards is a hilarious past time.

Obviously he wants to cheat more and they won't let him. All the top programs cheat. Also needs better investment in facilities I believe according to some fans.

Notre Dame cheats. And gives him a blank check.

This sounds like a Harbaugh-crafted purposefully leaked rhetoric to make him the victim. Poor Jim, admin has it out for him. It's not like he's ended up as the pariah at every stop he's ever been at. SF wanted him gone and he took them to a SB.

The Big10 schools(minus rutgers, nubs, and penn st) have always played this game. They have ALWAYS snubbed their noses at all the other conferences and programs.

At least the Pac12 schools, who do the same, keep it under wraps. Big10 schools don't and will wave the finger at others, especially when it comes to the dirty games in recruiting.

Yet they have proven to be dirtier than any Football factory. Point shavers, rapists, pedos, etc goes on and on. And this is just shite that we know of.

Bingo. The “administration” isn’t out there playing shitty football. It’s the football team. Led by Jim.

To be fair, Stanford was on the level of where Kansas is right now when he got there. Squeezing 4 wins out of his first team there was miraculous.

Except PSU and Wisconsin haven't made the playoffs. The frick?

Well, wisky is in the west. I just think Michigan needs to lower the academic standards or accept these results. Rich Rod mentioned this in a recent interview.

The whole "Michigan academic standards" is kind of a crock of shite. There's a reason almost every one of their players in the "general studies" program.

quote:

His bosses want to win, on their terms and that simply can’t happen with Ohio State killing it in Columbus. He can’t get some kids he wants and they do not want him making a spectacle of himself while trying to will the Wolverines to the top.

I’m told he has confided privately to some folks around the program that this isn’t his “Michigan” and he just can’t find it in himself to settle for 8, 9 or 10 wins a season. He wants more and his fire has gone out to fight the administration. Jim loves Michigan and wants to see it win big but the road blocks are to big and the University’s stomach is weak.

He isn’t faultless, but understand, he did everything he could and was met with road block after road block. Tell me where we’ve heard this before.

What the frick is this bullshite? I love the vague suggestions with no actual examples. What roadblocks? Be specific. And what way does the administration want to win?
