My school beat them in round 1 the following year. They had an athletic qb

Most crushing for me was WM loss to Evangel 20-14 in the dome

Losing to Salmen in the dome 4A championship 96. Yes, with Cecil the Diesel. Beating St. Martinville while down 14 with 90 seconds left. Unbelievable. Then losing to Warren Easton in the semis.

Independence

I guess take your pick on our 3 losses in the 3A Championship Game.

1997 vs. Evangel - 51-13
- The worst of the Evangel/Independence playoff trilogy. The year before, Independence went up to Shreveport and damn near pulled off an upset in the semifinals. LaBrandon Toefield's best year in high school, and a good bit of talent on the defensive side. But could not match up well this night.

1998 vs. Evangel - 28-14
- I believe this was LaBrandon Toefield's senior year, and he was out for most of it. However, the argument was that he was healthy for the playoffs but sat out as to not jeopardize going to LSU. Still, it was the most competitive effort from Indy in the title game.

2006 vs. Lutcher - 27-7
- Arguably the last great Indy team with Chris Banks at QB, but they came out flat against a good Lutcher team.

Of the three, I think the 1998 championship is the worst.

As far as greatest, beating Amite any year and probably any of the playoff wins from 1996-1998. There were a bunch of big names those Indy teams beat including Parkview Baptist, E.D. White, Lutcher, St. James, etc.

I was in the dome for the 2001 Parkview- Belle Chasse game.
The following week, when my boss asked me about the game I told him "If the Belle Chasse nose guard makes some bad decisions and finds himself in prison, he doesnt have anything to worry about. Nothing worse can be done than what Parkview's center did to him"

same idea.
LaGrange. played for AAA championship without two way center Mlb who broke hand in practice during week before.
oppenent scored two long tds up the middle.

alas.
i think opponent was Warren Easton.

greatest win.
lagrange vs Springhill who won AA state champ.
lagrange 15-14. won on blocked kick!
Springhill claimed early jump on block.
no replay.
lagrange wins.

Mamou High
Best Win- 2000 over St Ed’s. Week 10, district rivals. Both undefeated. There were an estimated 8,000 people there. Bleachers had to be brought in from Mamou to try to accommodate the crowd. It wasn’t enough! Final score was 7-6

Worst loss- lost to St Helena Central in Semis in 2004. All State Reciever/ Safety who went on to play at Michigan had a tough catch go off his fingertips late in the 4th that would’ve sent the Demons to the dome

Obviously a distant memory now as that is probably the worst program in the state for the last decade plus. Hopefully they can start to turn it around

Iowa-this school year beating Leesville to advance to the semifinals for the first time ever. Worst-2005 (Katrina and Rita year) losing at home to Independence in the second round, 9-7. They were a really good team that won two more games after, but we were better and senior-laden. Qb made a few VERY stupid throws that of course were all picked off.

This is from Kansas High School but back in the late 1970s, maybe early 1980s, Rossville shutout every team they played in the regular season and through out the playoffs and then lost 3-0 to Smith Center in the state finals.

Winning the Semifinal, away game, charging their field.

Losing the next week in The Dome.

Yep. This is the one for me too. Jeremy Stewart left everything on the field on those spin offense zone reads. Just ran out of time.

Just noticed it's a zombie thread after reading back and seeing I already said this.

Got to disagree with you here. The 2000 loss to Norte Dame in the dome was the worst. Bad snap by the deep snapper resulted in a touchdown for Norte Dame and a broken ankle for the QB/punter. Cost Redemptorist TWO state championships, probably. That one and the upcoming basketball one, where the QB was also the star on the basketball team.

Sorry, but Patterson lost to Redemptorist in 2002.
They won the title in 2002, 2003, and 2005.
