The Johe Curtis squad that beat Hoover by 40 was pretty stacked with Joe McKnight. Give me Newman with Peyton though.
wasn't by 40... and newman w peyton never made it past quarters

Was this the Jamie Spencer led team? Or was he closer to 93-94ish?

It was the 90 Ruston team and its not even close.

Chick Childress, Ruston Coach in 1990, said on several occasions 1998 West Monroe was the best ever. Very nice guy though.

They won the 5A State Championship with ease that season.
I will disagree here. WM played them a hell of a lot closer than the 14-3 final score. DJ Banks threw a pick 6 late in the 4th to put them up. Had WM scored, would have been 10-7 WM

I think they mean 2007. Because Jordan Jefferson was at LSU in 2008.

I still love Don Show's pre game pep talk before the 1998 State Championship game against Ruston.

"They are in our district and it's my Alma Mater; we are not going to embarrass them in front of the whole state…." LOL

Jamie Spencer graduated from Ouachita in 1995.

Spencer was either 92 or 94, remember him having a good first half in the finals before Hahnville shut him down in the second and beat them. Hahnville won the title in 92 & 94 so not sure which it was.

What classification did Hahnville win in 92? I know they won, just can’t remember the class. Carencro won 5A in 92. Beat Neville on a missed PAT in Charlie Brown’s last game. Hahnville beat Ouachita in 94.

Neville vs Carencro

You have said that before....

If that team truly had that many elite signees, they seem to be a typical Aug team who played weellllllll below their potential.

Of all the LA high school teams that dominated their way through the playoffs, I have a tough time saying this Aug team is the best of all time

1st round

St aug- 29
Carver-8

2nd round

St Aug- 14
West Jeff-6

quarters

St Aug--20
South Lafourche-7

Semis

St. Aug--11
SUlphor-10

Finals

St Aug- 35
Covington-13

The teams they beat in the playoffs were awfully good.... even in their dominant run they didn't score a lot of points.... and that finals game was not as close as the score was...
