Good for him. I don't see the same outrage about the NBA taking Chinese millions or soccer teams being owned by middle eastern ruling families. If it's a free for all, might as well get yours.
I mean… there is a lot of outrage about the NBA and China. Just check this board
I’m honestly surprised that people don’t have the same thoughts about Saudi Arabia here.

I thought this was about a music disc jockey. I don't keep up with golf. I was thinking man, that dj must really be good.

Can't wait to see all the LGBTQ pride flags from the PGA to show us just how much better they are than the Saudis.

They won’t tell DJ that but they will absolutely tell Kevin Na that

Well.. we will probably find out in the next week.

Saudi doesn’t present the same existential threat as China.

I think China represents a threat to our pride more than an actual threat to our sovereignty… we are their biggest customers

Did any of these players publicly support Phil while he was getting roasted? Or did they let him take all the heat?

They must be desperate if they’re paying players like Kevin Na $30M.
His value is nothing more than a decent player to fill out the field.
Good for him. It took him 20 years to earn $30 million. He’s about to equal that in the next few months.
Na is the 2nd best player in the field, per OWGR rankings... I wouldn't call it desperate, more like they have $ to throw. Not sure how these deals were made (through agents/etc), but I don't think it's a coincidence that these numbers are close to "career earnings" on the PGA. That was probably the baseline used to get them to go over.
125M to DJ, he's made ~75M on the PGA (Tiger's career earnings are ~120M).
How much $ do you think Phil was offered? career PGA earnings ~95M.

Money makes the world go round. The PGA has acted like spoiled brats thru out this whole process
The players should be free to make their decision to play LIV, and the TOUR should be free with what they require of their members. Both sides are simply trying to ensure the most money in their bank accounts.

Do you know of another pro sports league which banned players if they played in an opposing league?
Serious question bc I can't think of any.
Baseball has pro leagues in South America and Asia and even some in Europe. MLB doesn't give a shite.
Hockey has leagues in Russia. NHL doesn't care if you play there.
Basketball has leagues all across Europe and Asia. NBA loves it.
Soccer has more leagues and tournaments than I can count. Not even sure that there is a dominant league, just several top tier leagues throughout the world.
Where the hell does the PGA get their business model?

I know about inflation and all, but DJ’s earnings compared to Tiger and Phil just seems wrong.

Yeh, that’s what I thought. But comparing this to other pro leagues is an awful comparison for a multitude of reasons
If you can’t understand why the players would want to play, you are foolish
If you can’t understand why the Tour wants to fight LIV, you are foolish

Yeh, he looked like a fools there. The freaking pro leagues here tell guys they can’t ride motorcycles and shite. There is zero way they are allowing a player to go play in another league

PGA players aren't under contract.

PGA players aren't under contract.
Other pro leagues here absolutely would not allow a current player to play in another league

Nah, you don't get to not answer the question and then call me a fool.
But, to answer your question, I'm pretty sure there have been basketball players that have been called up to NBA rosters after bouncing around in other leagues. Pretty sure the same happens with baseball players too.
If you are not under contract you, you go play anywhere you can make money. PGA golfers are not under contract.

And the PGA Tour as an organization is allowed to enforce their agreed upon bylaws, which would include not allowing these players back if they choose
Fair is fair on both sides
