I have a co-worker that claims to average 280 off of the tee, and then we played in a scramble together. I was consistently hitting my drive 20-25 yards past him.

He was right, he did average 280 yards with his driver.

The difference is probably quite a bit. When you actually play with someone who can catch one for 300+ regularly off the tee then you realize how far the average joe really hits it.

i know i can hit it long, but i know not every drive is long.

i don't care if its 260 or 290 as long as its in play.

I drive 300 on occasion.

I'm usually 270ish.

220-260

I have a mean hook that i cannot fix with my driver, so i use the old man swing and fade the ball in the fairway but only around 200-220. I make for yardage with approach shots.

These insecure short knockers make this thread once a month. If you lift a little and bring that up a bit, you can hang with me and Ryno.

My longest drive yesterday was 230. Probably averaged 190. I hit my 3W longer than my driver most of the time but I'm too proud to hit if off the tee every time

agreed. that is what makes my power all the more impressive.

honestly I judge a guy's power by how far he hits his irons. I don't even hit very many drivers on most courses--especiallly in the summers when the ball is flying

My buddy that I usually play with goes for any green <300 and I have seen him hit over them at least once that I can distinctly remember. And on occasion when there is a long par 5 with a slope, I have seen him rip it 330 yards. Its crazy when we finally get to his ball and I am usually lying 2 right past his drive. 300 yards is far as frick.

I can hit only one 300 yard drive per round if the temp is really hot. The difference between 60 degrees and 100 degrees is amazing.

But when talking about average drive I'm sure it's about 200. Because if I hit 3 drives 250 and then mishit one 50 yards my average would be 200.

I avg a drive of 250-260 if you count how far my ball travels and not how far it is from the tee box.

You need a special kind of power to put a ball almost two fairways away.
