FSU should file a lawsuit. Yes it is unprecedented. But it would send a message.

They should also put up a lot of billboards. That'll show them.

And what message is that?

“The committee’s opinion better go along with public opinion or else!”

The top 4 are a group of people’s opinion. It’s not a computer. The CFP has only been around for 10 years so the people saying things like “THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE!!” are stupid.

A precedent for all the teams that are ranked 13th at the end of the year from here on out.

Big thing would be the discovery process.

If any improper contacts or favors are discovered Bama should be nuked from orbit.

All the 1 loss teams from 2007 should file a lawsuit.

From a financial standpoint, would be an interesting argument from the conference and school. The committee is costing them a lot of money.

Ultimately, them going with the argument of this who is we think the 4 best teams are is fine, and the think FSU without Travis isn't a 4th best team. The problem is they didn't use their own reasoning consistently. There is no way I think you can argue FSU without Travis is better than UGA, OSU, or Oregon IMO. They used the reasoning when it was convenient to do so, but then abandoned it after the 4 were picked.

Sloopy got into the BCSCG.

Kansas didn't even win their division.

Hawaii might have a point.

Florida State has the ACC to blame. They're the ones who blocked the 12-team expansion for 2023, accusing Sankey of making a power play to make the SEC stronger than they already were.

Send a message to who? After this year there will be 12 teams in the playoff. So what kind of message do they want to sent? That the playoffs should add more than 4 teams?

I think its pretty simple. You have 5 conference winners. Which conference was the weakest? Arguably the ACC. And if they were going to get in I think Michigan should have been the team that didn't get in. They had the weakest strength of schedule. Someone was getting hosed no matter what. It just happened to be FSU.

Imagine being an LSU fan and spending this much mental energy fighting against a fellow SEC school that would be favoured by 12.5 points over the team you're clutching your pearls for.

I bet if they filed a law suit they could radically change college football. Hopefully the end result would be to get a 12 team playoff so an undefeated P5 champion never misses an opportunity to try for a national championship again. Would be a great outcome from a lawsuit.

Playoffs should have been the 11 conference champions plus 5 at large. Take the human element completely out. That way the regular season matters like in literally EVERY OTHER FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
