Woodlawn had a hell of a game plan. Were very physical. Kept it close and took advantage of opportunities.

Rickie Collins is a heckuva player. If you can’t contain him you’re in for a long night.

I’ve been in BR since 89 and I don’t ever remember Woodlawn beating Catholic before tonight

EDW 37-7 over Berwick. Clinch at least a share of the District Title. After last week’s drubbing of Lutcher, they are ranked #1 in their select Division. U Lab and De La Salle other contenders in the Division.

I drove 300 miles round trip to watch high school football tonight, left at 4 this afternoon. Lost bad, bad. Son kicked a 48 and a 50 yarder though. That was cool.

I doubt anyone here has ever heard of either one but it was the high school I went to vs the high school my girls (no pics) went to.

The girls won this round

Georgia and both of them are grown and live on their own now. Neither of those teams are very good, they both still have a shot to make the playoffs but they'll get blown out in the first round

That last name and being in that family. I have seen Arch play and he is a good player. But I don't know if he is worthy of the hype he is getting. As much of a blessing and benefits he gets from carrying that name it has to a bit of a burden also with the expectations being so high.

How did Catholic lose?

After playing both this year, I have the same question. Catholic looked infinitely better. Catholic did rely on, and received time and time again, players on islands to make 1 on 1 tackles. Against WM, they made the play every time. I could see them simply not making every single play against Woodlawn and instantly being in trouble.

Great job by Woodlawn! Historic win.

STM beats defending 4A champs Carencro 35-28

STM’s 2 sophomore qb’s had a good game. STM has learned to run the ball with Walker out and Carencro was honed in on it. It gave the qbs a chance to win it with their arms.

When Walker comes back for the playoffs, they will be a much more complete team and should go deep into the playoffs.

I watched catholic and Woodlawn last year and they couldn’t stop Collins
Bottom line
Collins is tough to defend

Wow. Congrats. He might actually go to college for free, if he wants to.

I watched Collins beat STA 2 years in a row, he is good. He dropped balls into receivers hands throw after throw

East Ascension beat Woodlawn just last Friday. They set the blueprint for beating him. Put non-stop pressure on him and he makes bad decisions. He was off target the entire second half.

When STA played him, they couldn’t put pressure on him. Give him time to sit in the pocket and scan the entire field he’ll find the open recover all night long.

I don’t know if Catholic put pressure on him or not last night. I was watching the World Series.
