I was unfamiliar with that rule until a few pages ago... Went and read it and it doesn’t sound like its hard and fast. It allows them to kick him out of the race, but doesn’t say they have to.
Will be interesting to see what happens if he does miss the 107%. Does the FIA bench him or do they allow him in
If he’s in, you know its going to become a cluster once that first blue flag comes up. Very little area to pass and he’s going to get lapped quickly, if he even makes it that far.

Won't happen. That is reserved for truly terrible cars.
Everyone is getting on him about blue flags, but the Perez incident is the only one that stands out, and he apologized on the spot. Last week Toto was telling race control to show Maz blue flags and they weren't, he moved over right away.
Don't forget that Mazespin drove the wheels off a Merc in testing at Barcelona a few years ago. I guess Kyvat had the same reputation at one time as well.

Lando extended his Mclaren contract. Seems like a no-brainer for both Lando and the team.

Great for Lando.... Seems like an up and comer.
If Ric can get comfy with the car and nobody knowing what future seasons will hold with all the new regs, Mcclaren may be a contender sooner rather than later.

2009 and 2014 shook things up. I'm really hoping 2022 does the same thing, but I think there's this underlying fear that the status quo will remain the same.

I didn't realize Thursday FP1 & FP2 was a thing in Monaco until yesterday. Apparently it dates back to the original race in 1929 where the Friday was a holiday so the scheduled for Thursday and the schedule has stuck ever since.

I didn't know it was a tradition thing at the beginning. That is pretty cool.
Had always heard Friday was a quiet day to let everyone get in their hotels/condos and get set for the weekend.
The long wheelbase of the Mercs looks like it is having the holdbacks circa 2018. Which is great for competition. Not sure how many listened to FP2 commentary and what Toto said. Some good speculation about development of the cars and maybe the salary cap already having the desired result.
