Once Hamilton pitted, Lando had to stay out. At that time, it was all he could do.

I’m a big fan of Lando and that was heartbreaking for him, but it was on him, not the team.

Pretty big deal since he is sitting at 8pts right now. Could have become a major issue.

Max is infallible. Any time he pushes someone wide it is a racing incident, anytime he is pushed wide the offender should be banned at least a race.

Back to the irrational hate on Hamilton He drove great today

The hate for Ham is completely rational. He’s a whiny bitch and a hypocrite.

He’s also an all time great and I agree. He drove great. The play today was hards, then mediums. But he went medium, hards and made it work and then picked up some luck at the end when the wind changed and the rain came.

I can’t speak for others but I don’t think max is infallible. He botched Monza and was penalized accordingly. I didn’t defend him. You couldn’t.

I just think his aggressiveness is stuff we see in others all the time (including Ham, king of the RB punt) and that’s brushed off as hard racing. While max is a hothead.

It’s like Lewis can’t ever be wrong. Whatever.

This just isn’t backed up by what happens on track and with the stewards. A ten second penalty when you are ahead by a pit stop isn’t a penalty at all. It’s a wink wink hand slap.

Just because Max is more brash, doesn’t make Lando any less arrogant. Lando is just more protected by the media and people think he’s cool because he streams on Twitch. He and George are way overhyped because they’re British, but both are making the same, if not worse mistakes that Max made before he matured in a championship contender.

Most pointless fricking rule changes ever.

Sucks for Lando.

Wild arse start of the race. Crazy finish.

Max’s younger antics were also amplified because he was partnered with Ricciardo and he refused to play second chair.

Neither Lando or Russell have had to deal with that. Even now Danny is expected to give way to lando.

Next year will be interesting to see what happens when George is running third in some race with a performing car and then Toto calls for him to switch plans and pit for a undercut or overcut just to screw with RB and help Lewis and it’s to George’s detriment.

Fixed. Link to radio. Lando was asked if he wanted inters after having been informed the rain would not get any worse. Hamilton was told by his team that the rain would get worse, so he took inters. The rain did get worse, at which point Lando asked to box.

I saw a quote yesterday where someone summed it up and said Mercedes made the call for Hamilton based on information the team had. Mclaren [team] made Lando make the call on information he didn't have.

In the end though, I get the other side of the argument and the blame people are putting on Lando. I guess I'm just arguing to hear myself talk

That wasn't what I heard live, but your fix is correct. I guess I misheard it amidst all the chaos.

Yep, the team should have had more conviction there. Lando was already telling them to shut up (let him focus on driving), he shouldn't have been the one put on the spot to make that decision. He made an emotional decision and not an informed decision.

I agree, the team should have said heavier rain is coming pit now.

I want and expect my driver to want to stay out there when they have the lead. It's in their DNA. This is one where the team has to make the decision and tell the driver they ARE boxing.

In the end, this is going to make Lando and McLaren better as its a great "teachable" moment.
