Red Bull use to do this with great effect year ago in what is known as a Blown Diffuser... the exhaust would exit at the end of the side pod and help speed up and channel air flow out the back
Now, if you notice, all exhaust gasses exit in the center of the rear of the car
Hell, back in the day, some teams use to run exhaust through the floor of the car before it was banned

I forget if it was Ferrari, or Red Bull maybe, that made fake exhaust ports on the side of the car to try and fool other teams.

Could this be the first race we don’t get both Mercs in the top 3 poll positions?
Also, can anyone explain to me the “no party mode” change? Is it for all P and Q? Or just Q?

From what I understand it’s for the whole weekend, so they can only run one map in qualifying and in the race.
Earlier this week Toto was quoted, and I’m paraphrasing, saying something along the lines of “our goal in 2021 is to run quali mode for the entire race”. I’m assuming he sees this new rule as an attempt to hold them back a bit and isn’t a fan.
ETA: misread the question, they can run whatever modes in practice but have to use the same mode in qualifying as they do in the race.
