I think Max wins this race if he stays in. Not even because Merc screwed it up, I think GR would have been pushed into a mistake by Max.

I think he does mean that much to them. With him in that car, that pit stop never happens because either Hamilton tells them no or they have enough faith he brings it home without the tire help.

I don't know about the negotiations. My amateur opinion says it hurts Hamilton, but not much.

Yeah. I have no idea. Could believe either way.

I know if I was negotiating I would continue to point out the worst finish in a decade (minus double DNFs) was when I wasn't in the car.

That's what they claim, but if that is the case, why not sell your partner, Redbull the cads for the engine you want nothing to do with

Seems fishy

And if that's the direction they truly want to go, I'd be interested to see how much $$$ Honda puts into F1 by making the engines as opposed to how much they will lose in marketing. Seems virtue signaling and short sighted.

Mercs tweet about Netflix not filming with them yesterday was pretty funny.

yet still committed to the Honda Indy Car series

Honda has just stated that they will remain in IndyCar as an engine manufacturer for the new hybrid formula from 2023 and beyond. As such, they will develop a new 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid engine for the series, and they say it will be good for 900 HP.

I think Netflix was following Racing Point. Which would be great.

Does that indy car engine have commercial applications that their f1 engine does not?

Cannot wait for the new season. It's always compelling but this year's version should be fantastic.

They may get more return out of the Indy program than the F1 program. Developing two similar engines might not be worth it.

I don't think any of it has to necessarily do with application to commercial vehicles.

I think its virtue signaling and short sighted. Taking Honda out of the limelight of the biggest motorsport world wide has to have negative impacts on marketing.

I don’t believe the Japanese would virtue signal. That’s a uniquely western problem.

I know it doesn't mean that much but during covid lockdown and all the F1 guys were doing the online racing, Russell won a few of those races.

Social media is a weird thing.

Instagram.

Russell removed references to being a Williams driver. Changed it to formula 1 driver.

Bottas quit following Mercedes F1. May be the wrong term.

Mercedes F1 Instagram trying to do damage control.

Wait, I thought it was certain Bottas was leaving at the end of the season? Looking back I don’t know why I thought that but I did

Yes, Bottas is contracted through next season at Merc... Russell is contracted through next season at Williams... Lewis has yet to sign for next season at Merc

RoGro got his Instagram hacked the last couple days as well.

And Mazepin is trying his hardest to lose his ride via social media.

Posted a video riding around in a car while groping some chick. No idea of the context and also doubtful anything comes of it. Has a lot of the F1 crowd that already didn't like him in a tizzy.

Changed it last week before the drive.

Bottas appears to be trolling the shite out of people. Which he has done before via social media. He still follows Merc, but apparently removed that he was a driver for a specific team. Then posted a pic of a large W somewhere in Dubai/Abu Dhabi.

Not that I think it’ll happen but on the Missed Apex podcast they brought up that it was the Williams family that held Russell to his 2021 contract and now that they’re not there nee ownership may have a different take, especially if Mercedes is willing to throw a bunch of cash to make it happen.

Mazepin is already a mess for Haas. The guy doesn't learn and has thinks he can do anything because of his dad's money. And guess what, up to now he has been able to. He needs a square kick in the nuts.
