How can you possibly put Oklahoma on this list? They are regularly in the playoffs

I wouldn't count out OU just yet.

OU, Texas and ND are all teams I wouldn't have on that list. All have been in NC games in recent years. No reason to think they can't get hot enough to make the playoff and or win it. Especially OU.

What? They have been in the CFP four times. They might not have won, but they are certainly not out of contention.

I wouldn’t count out OU or USC by any stretch. And to a lesser degree Texas.

Nebraska, Miami and ND are all ones I’d include in the list.

Never say never though, who knows. A team could get hot in the right year anytime.

I would say Georgia, but they were never a power.

Its Nebraska and Tennessee.

Tennessee is hampered by the shape of the state.
The biggest close recruiting areas are southern ohio and atlanta. Those are picked over by closer better programs. In state
Tenneesee recruits are not all that strong and memphis gets more news from Mississippi and Arkansas.

Nebraska depended on texas recruits. Leaving the longhorn conf hurts recruiting. Not many african Americans outside omaha.

The rest will climb back to the top at some point.

What USC has going for it is the future is Athletes are allowed to profit off their likeness and such. SO much money in LA compared to Nprman or Lincoln.

I cannot see how you can any longer convince a kid to go to Lincoln. When they were at their peak it made sense.

Fulmer never got the credit he deserved for recruiting that team into a formidable power. They realized it after he left.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Florida State football doesn’t make a playoff game in the next 5-7 years.

Fulmar recruited distant west Tennessee well which was a vital pipeline. Theyve since had trouble. Memphis kids just as easy go to OM or State now

While I certainly don't think Nebraska will ever play for 4 titles in 5 years and win 3 in 4, I don't think they should be considered a dead program.

Nebraska has deserved 20 years of pain for tearing apart what Devaney and Osborne took 40 years to build but Frost has been recruiting well and just pulled in four 4 star players from Florida.

To say someone won’t do it again means that even an A+ elite coach like Saban or Urban, in their prime, couldn’t win a title there. That immediately tosses out OU and Texas.

USC, under current leadership, can’t but if they got their act together they could start cranking them out again. Same with Miami.

The list is Nebraska and MAYBE Notre Dame/Tennessee/Michigan. But even those last three, though they have lost many of the advantages they once had, could still get there IMO.

Any team can get there! Look at Texas A&M! They are trying to get there with Jimbo!

Has nothing to do with gate recipts or TV money and USC lags way behind Lincoln and Norman in both.

There's no way they'll be able to implement their likeness deal with getting in trouble or kicked out of the NCAA.

I was not talking about gate receipt money.

The NCAA has already moved in that direction... https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/29/us/ncaa-athletes-compensation/index.html
