I'd say Nebraska,

Nd, OU, USC, and UT could all easily catch fire like LSU one year and win it all

I'd replace Texas with Miami.

I wouldn't count out OU just yet.

Oklahoma is in the mix every year, I wouldn’t count them out. Definitely Miami and Nebraska are dead programs, I would be surprised to see USC, Notre Dame or Michigan get back to national prominence as well. At Texas, you have the pieces to succeed but too many meddling boosters.

To say someone won’t do it again means that even an A+ elite coach like Saban or Urban, in their prime, couldn’t win a title there. That immediately tosses out OU and Texas.

USC, under current leadership, can’t but if they got their act together they could start cranking them out again. Same with Miami.

The list is Nebraska and MAYBE Notre Dame/Tennessee/Michigan. But even those last three, though they have lost many of the advantages they once had, could still get there IMO.

That Clemson is doing what they're doing means that just about any P5 school in the south or on the west coast is technically the right coach away from winning a championship.

Oklahoma is too close to Texas, and Texas is in Texas, so you can't count either of them out forever.

USC will turn around very, very quickly when they find the right guy. Their name carries too much weight in a large recruiting base for them not to.

Notre Dame and Nebraska have an uphill climb though. Even with Notre Dame's national brand. Even though they're SEC, I'd say Tennessee is a more reasonable addition to the list than Texas. Miami looks like a shell of its former self, and their recovery won't be nearly as easy as USC's would be, even though they're maybe an even better recruiting area.

Nebraska and ND are the only ones on your list that make any sense

OU has made the playoffs every year

USC and Texas just require the right coach and they will be back, same as FSU and Miami

never again is a long time for these 4. Nebraska is probably the only one that belongs on this list, maybe Tennessee

They will always be a sleeping giant, IMO. Not as much as before, when the Big East was at its peak, but still lots of potential.

The move back to the Big East in basketball will help them.

Since 2000 LSU and Alabama are the only schools with 3 or more national championships but yeah we really "caught fire" in a sea of mediocre seasons.

Money is still a big issue for both those schools.Pac 12 and ACC are still way behind in TV money and attendence at both places would put em in the lower half of SEC schools.

Probably true and none are lacking in finances especially Michigan.
