The SVP/Ryan Clark BS was a little much.

There are a couple of posters on the MSB that think the entire season should be canceled
And now this thread is on the MSB

Because standard operating process is the game continues after the ambulance leaves. It’s what has always happened. Isn’t it plausible, or even likely, the refs and some players went into what is “normal” and started to prepare for play again until the nfl was like “um, let’s take some time here”
or maybe the league relayed there normal operating procedure to the producers like joe buck said.
and it took the nfl more time than necessary to realize what a shite show that would have been.

The amount of people calling for the NFL to just push back the playoffs one week to play this game was laughable. These are multimillion dollar productions involving over a thousand people planned well in advanced you can’t just say hey let’s play next week.

And giving the NFL shite about how the decisions were made is stupid. Their protocols probably saved Damar’s life. Yes they took their time to call off the game, but the important things were handled correctly and quickly
This needs to be the talking point today.
The NFL protocols, and the trained medical professionals that are on site for that nfl game last night may have saved that man’s life. If that happened at a high school football game, I don’t know if there would have been enough people/equipment available to save the life of the player. But the nfl has protocols in place that gave the player the best possible chance to survive.
And also, as far as how long it took to suspend the game, it’s okay to slow play things until you can gather more information. There was nothing any Bills nor Bengals personnel could do to help the player once the medical professionals took over. Keep everyone in a “wait and see” approach was perfectly fine.

Influencers/media should be using this as an opportunity to encourage the public to get BLS certified. Could happen anytime.

After the ridiculous response to Covid, none of this should be a surprise.

The soapbox preaching really is overshadowing what the young man and his family is going through... Spears is on TV screaming at people not to worry about fantasy sports, were people upset from a fantasy perspective or something?
And I'll get roasted for this, but Ryan Clark couldn't complete a preachy thought last night

You got motherfrickers on this board who don’t understand logistics well enough to throw a successful toddlers birthday party, yet want to lambast a multibillion dollar organization for how they handled this
The internet has expanded people’s egos to a whole new level
Dunning-Kruger on a massive scale, amplified by the connectivity of social media.

Fact is the logistics on the medical response are unparalleled. You wouldn’t get a faster response if this happened in the front door of an ER. The NFL took its time and prioritized what was important, and all the idiots on Twitter are trying to make this about themselves and their faux outrage for the players that had to wait it out a bit in an unprecedented situation.
I don’t like some of the choices he has made in other situations. In this situation the things put in place may have saved Hamlins life so they obviously had their shite together.
Like another poster said most of those people couldn’t organize a kids birthday but want to shite on guys running a multi billion dollar company.

It’s turned into a contest for some people over who can have the most over-the-top-emotional reaction with the strictest and most authoritarian guidelines on cancelling games for the rest of the season. It’s weird as frick
Someone actually called for this? Who?

Players get hurt all the time… part of the game.
However, I have never seen CPR required on the field. Quite a bit different than a bad injury.
Never happened before so no one really knew how to react. You give CPR to save a life. Didn’t need to take almost 45 minutes to cancel the game. Kind of a clusterfrick from a communication standpoint between NFL and network. Of course people speculate and react with lack of information AND direction.

I was surprised when they stopped the game. People break bones, get paralyzed, concussed and they don't stop the game. I seriously figured he must've died.

I’m not sure how you blame football for this one unless people are trying to be dishonest on purpose and looking for any reason. It wasn’t even that big of a hit. It’s not uncommon for athletes to have undiagnosed heart conditions that cause problems. That could have happened during a normal strenuous workout. He took contact right in the chest but there was nothing out of the ordinary about that hit that happens thousands of times without causing cardiac arrest.

Joe Buck and then ESPN kinda just ran with that
Did they make it up?
I know the NFL has come out and tried to squash that narrative, but why would Buck just make it up? He got that from somewhere.

Agreed. When someone has a heart attack at work does the boss tell everyone to go home and sort through their emotions of your fellow employee while he is in the hospital maybe fighting for his life? Whether the attack happens in front of millions of people or eight people in your office one incident doesn't outweigh the other.
