Have they ever played John Curtis? Feel like that would be National TV worthy.

IMG? They would drag JC.

Don’t think of IMG, Mater Dei, Bosco as the great high school teams of the past that would play each other years ago. Those at least stole talent from their areas.

These private schools steal the top talent from all over the nation. They actually aren’t coached well, or they’d be even better. But its hard to coach a revolving door of talent.

Then wouldn’t a team like JC that at least has some of the best talent in the state and elite high school coaching stand a chance?

That’s maybe 25% of one state (granted, one of the best ones) vs a certified national recruiting team

We are Bishop Sycamore a new football program getting established in Columbus Ohio. We play a national schedule which is ranked 4th in the nation. We have gather young men from all over the country in the pursuit of a similar goal.

This should have been a clue.

Apparently so. They scheduled St. Edward too. That will be a very long, very shitty bus ride home from Cleveland.

I watched quite a bit of the first quarter and it wasn’t even close to the biggest mismatch I’ve ever seen. Sycamore actually gained some yardage and like I said earlier made some good one on one tackles in space.

I just can not for the life of me figure out why their coaches would allow kids to play games on Friday and Sunday? That is negligence at worst and idiocy at best.

You'd think a sports network that does sports reporting and purported journalism would have looked in this.

ESPN outsources the scheduling I believe. So they somewhat come in cold on these things. That is the way I always understood it.

Nothing “fake” about IMG
As an athletic department, sure. As a "high school"...

Barstool sports is posting about this on social media. It’s really about to gain some traction.

What a mess lol

I went to high school and college in Ohio and I've never heard of Bishop Sycamore
I mean, they’re a 2 year old online school

You probably wouldn’t have heard of them even if they were a legitimate team

the only people who can judge that sit in their classrooms

It’s like 80,000 a kid. They’re probably not skimping on textbooks

IMG wanted to play STM out of Lafayette in this game but STM coaches declined. They didn't want to risk getting anyone injured the Sunday before kicking off their season in a game that really doesn't mean anything.

From this story that keeps getting wilder:

There has never been a Bishop Sycamore

They played two games in three days

Their head coach currently has an ACTIVE arrest warrant

Most of the players are JUCO dropouts who are nowhere near HS age

How was ESPN scammed this badly??

ESPN has learned from ABC, facts are irrelevant. Sensationalism is what matters.
