If only he'd ridden off into the sunset last year instead of going full egomaniac. I suppose he will be a HOFer regardless largely due to the sheer amount of years he was involved in the game.

If you manage 26 years, you should be able to win 1 World Series. He won a lot of games because he had a lot of great players.

Listening to local Houston sports radio, it is ridiculous the slobbering they are doing on the guy.

Saying things like no one could have gotten this team right in 2020 like Dusty did and that is why it was the right hire and has been a huge success. They overestimate Dusty's value there as if he is a unicorn of some kind.

The system that made the team so consistent and successful remained in place until "shocker" this year when Dusty killed the analytics. Then all of a sudden, one of the most talented if not most talented teams in the MLB became ridiculously inconsistent.

If Dusty had retired last year, everyone would have celebrated him. His arrogance this year destroyed a lot of that support with the fanbase because he wasted it for his ego as others said. He thinks his guy feelings and hunches are way better than actual statistics.

In the end, had he left last year, he wouldn't get so much hate.

Dusty is black and adored by the media which did help the Astros PR after the “scandal.”

His managerial skills did not help.

It was time for Dusty to retire, but...the players-to a man-love him. I'd say they know more than the haters here.

He kept the team going after the scandal and won the WS. But yes, time to go. Thanks Dusty. Enjoy retirement.
