Awesome.

The sooner this all crashes and burns, the better.

Also, pretty awesome Mensah abandoned his teammates at Tulane, not even traveling back with them after the conference championship game last season, only to lost to them this year and sit at home watching them in the College Football Playoff.

Though I’m willing to bet he didn’t give a shite about any of that, as long as he got his money.

Duke may be completely justified but this will not help their recruiting

Mensah will be in the portal tomorrow and will not play for Duke in 2026.

They can sign endorsement deals though, or why couldn't they?

Yup but legally no contract can tie any amount of money to the student athlete actually playing. Thats why there are all of these loopholes.

Some schools need to be the bad guys and start holding these players accountable for the deals they are signing to fix this whole thing.

They don't have an agreement that guarantees he's going to play at Duke...or that he won't play for another team.

They may want to have that. But, they don't have it.

They may be able to get a monetary judgement...but trying to prevent the player from moving on is baseless.

At some point a contract has to matter and there has to be an actual penalty to the person breaking it.

The contract actually has to state how you want it to matter. You can't create a contract to buy a car and then complain that it didn't come with a warranty.

You want the terms of the contract to limit where the player can play. It simply doesn't. There's a reason it doesn't, but that doesn't matter.

But by deciding to leave a school after you’ve signed a contract, that school has now lost out on time and other players they could have been recruiting instead

Identifying an unfortunate event doesn't make the other party responsible.

Tulane fans dont like Mensah after he left? No way

More so how he left. Pretty much every fan understands the business now. Mensah and company were douchebags leaving Tulane.

The agent didn't realize that Tulane could potentially pay one of his other clients in the future.

He was probably to busy sucking off MGK.

This has to come to an end, for both sides.

GUys sign 1 year deals or 2-4 year deals and are locked in

want to make money, sign 1 year deals.

Would they plan on starting a guy at QB who they are suing?

It's more to prevent him from playing for Miami.

Mensah will play at Miami and Duke will receive 4 mil or whatever the contract says.

Well yeah, that’s kind of my point. They’re throwing a hissy fit about him leaving
