Again, given context, I don’t think it’s all that difficult to make an assumption that he’s not exactly referring specifically to those players who are being paid increasingly higher and higher “salaries.” That isn’t necessarily the group he’s talking about there, generally speaking.
Why is he talking about universities and saying things like they "don't make that much money" and referencing 8-figure "salaries" then?

And that’s the general approach of people who aren’t capable of identifying and applying context. It’s usually easy to tell because said people dumb down the discussion on particular topics by focusing on playground “disses” in more or less every instance.

Should be a slam-dunk bipartisan issue
Negative. Why should the federal government be involved at all?

Naw the Feds have no control over federally funded institutions
The Feds have really been wielding that power over CFB lately, huh? Here's a hint: nothing is happening without a CBA with the players.

I remember when conservatives valued a smaller federal government

K, again, then I guess any government intervention in the area of men playing women’s sports should be a no-go too, right?

Colleges are taking tons of money from the government. If they don’t want the government to step in stop taking their money.

Highest CFB players…
Only 2-10 in CFP. INTERESTING

I get the whole "government stay out of it" attitude but the thing is, the courts ripped the NCAA's balls off.
Once that happened we are now in a position where until federal legislation is passed, it's essentially completely lawless anarchy out there.

The amount of donations LSU football received since 2023 would be enough to turn NOLa schools into best in America
People are free to spend their money as they wish.....
Meanwhile, what makes NOLA schools 'bad schools?' Hell, NOLA hosted a Super Bowl and a handful of Taylor Swift concerts in the last calendar year.
Where does all that revenue go? Where do those visitor hotel and restaurant dollars go? But no, let's go tell LSU football donors they are the ones dropping the ball when it comes to N.O. schools.

Your TDS is flaring up
Posted on 12/13/25 at 2:58 pm to TigerReb7
Yeah naw the Feds can’t do anything with college sports. The Supreme Court didn’t decide that NIL could happen at all.
Let’s be honest, some of y’all are so ate up with TDS that you’ll abandon all logic and reason to bash the Orange Man despite agreeing with him.
Some of y’all are not mentally well and you need to log off and find professionals help for it.

If the colleges don’t want the government to step in they should stop taking their money. I’d welcome that outcome as well

I think it’s absolutely crazy to give that kind of deal to any high school player who hasn’t even played a down of college
I think it’s crazy, too, but it’s not my business. People can do what they want with their money. Unfortunately, most of them don’t do good things.

Pray tell me how does Congress pass laws that would produce restraint of trade? You are aware that courts can overturn acts of Congress?
There is no knight on a white horse riding in to make things like they were before. The money is not going away, no matter how much that galls fans who in their heart of hearts view players as disposable gladiators if not serfs performing for their entertainment.
What needs to happen is a contractual agreement with the players to rein in the portal. Fix that, stop bitching about the money and we’ll be good.

Bro, you aren’t aware of laws passed directly for the purpose of regulating trade? Let’s take a big one for an example: think of the early such regulations…… how about anti monopoly laws and regulations?? Way back in the gap.

Next thing you know the players unionize. Then it will be a bigger mess.

its funny because we got here because of the government (judicial branch) getting involved and saying NCAA couldn't restrict players ability to be paid money or transfer
