When all is said and done this will actually be a great recruiting tool for LSU and Lane. As long as they stay the course. They didn't cower and fought the extreme double standards form the NCAA/SEC for these kids.

Once LSU went rogue, the SEC has been trying to get them to fall back in line.
Those players aren’t on the roster.

He went undrafted, so, they see it as “different”.
The lsu players weren't drafted either. The difference you are alluding to is training camp invite vs mini camp invite.

It’s the same thing.
It’s a distinction without a difference.

I agree but what you said wasn't accurate.

None "went pro". They're already pro. There is no amateurism in this level of football anymore.

The SEC set up a meeting on Thursday to discuss LSU’s membership, and Thamel reported later Tuesday that it wants LSU to show that “contrition” for the wrongdoings involving the potential playing of those ex-NFL players.

"Honey the news dropped everybody is realizing this is a bad idea and LSU will actually fight this", thats what this looks like. They want an out

It’s hilarious because the joke used to be wanting your arse kissed.
Now, opposing fans want just that.

Not me I've been on the players side this entire time

Unless it causes us to be left out of the playoffs

Would be interesting to see if they would go that far to maintain a standard that other conferences won’t hold to.

No
But it would be interesting. LSU might start its own conference. Or its own league....,its own world. They could get some joiners....real realignment.

The most retarded thing about all of this is that these are scrub players.
It would have been so easy to just cut bait with them weeks ago.

They aren’t even rostered.

Getting kicked out of the SEC, which I don't think is actually on the table right now, would kill LSU as an elite program over time. There is not another option other than the Big10 (who isn't letting LSU in) that can keep the money flowing at a level necessary for LSU to compete.

Publicly state we will not ever roster them or permit them to participate in LSU athletics, and they're only enrolled students.

The economic impact on the state would be enormous.
