This is wild

ETA:

quote:

A federal judge will hear the SEC's arguments for a temporary restraining order against LSU at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The judge granting such a request may pave the way for the league's expulsion vote scheduled for Thursday.

quote:

SEC presidents met Aug. 30 without LSU to discuss sanctions, including expulsion, as noted in the below story published Aug. 31.

Presidents held another call last Friday afternoon to further that discussion.

"The presidents are out for blood," said one official.

quote:

The presidents need 11 supportive votes from the 16 schools to expel a member.

For more than a week now - since that Aug. 30 gathering - the belief is that the presidents have the necessary votes to place LSU on probation at the very least, if not fully booting the university.

I think it’s posturing. There is way too much money involved for LSU to be expelled.

I think Finebaum and Stephen A are clowns, but they had a pretty good serious conversation last week. Finebaum said LSU would eventually back down when pressed enough.

Back down on what? The players are pushing clarity on the rule of 5 and how it is ambiguous on the 2022 players, not LSU.

Its a fricking joke. Sankey can eat a big dick. LSU has not signed any NFL player. Not on a roster. Sankey has a vag. end of story. If they kick LSU out it would be the dumbest shite i have ever seen in any sport.

They obviously aren't which is why its dumb to publicly announce you are having a vote

When it gets voted down they will look so weak

This is ensure that lsu does not ever place those NFL players on the roster

a lot of this is just lawyers and legal posturing

quit getting worked up into identities being threatened

No. Almost no chance of it.

I feel like there’s some legal reason to get a vote on the books this quickly. Only way it really makes sense

If you want to prevent LSU from ever adding those players then I would think you’d announce the vote to take place in like November or December as a “we will go nuclear if you cross the line” type thing

They won't even have a vote. On Thursday they'll just release some statement saying they had productive conversations and while nothing has been decided at this time all options remain on the table.

20 years ago maybe.

But the SEC has since added Texas, OU, A&M, and Mizzou and then would replace LSU w/another school w/a large fan base.

The financial blow to the SEC wouldn't end up being all that bad in the long run.

Creates urgency - which gives them a reason to seek an emergency TRO, which was included in the filings today.

This feels like an unnecessary HOA meeting.
