I hate to hear that. Me and like 10 others all got corona at a party we attended about 3 weeks ago. Worst symptoms any of us had was a sore throat. The media better not start bitching of this.

You suck so bad

The poor kids death had nothing to do with football or college at all even. So far there has been no Covid deaths for colleges that have remained on campus

There is now a covid death for colleges that went online. What does that say, Willy?

So, a case could be made, if there was football, he could be still alive, having not gotten the virus

A very good case. Or it would have been caught very early in the protocol and he would have gotten quality medical care immediately.

Many have been saying for months that these kids are safer in the protocol...it's frickin common sense.

They are using safety of the kids as cover and to save face. It's not the reason they want to stop college sports, painfully slowl, but surely that's coming to light.

My point is these kids are safer in these protocols than not. Not sure the lower level colleges could afford to provide the medical care the bigger ones do, but the point is if he were playing for a Power 5 school that kid might very well still be alive today.

Are you suggesting he still would have died even if he did not have Covid?

The fact that these guys are playing football or Not doesn't change the risk to them. Same risk sitting at home as playing football.

He wouldnt have died if he wasn't the size he is and had covid. That's what we're saying, I think.

This is overly dismissive. This guy isn’t much bigger than the average D1 O-lineman.

We can’t just say “we’ll, they should lose some weight!” They need the extra pounds to do their jobs. If they’re too skinny, they could lose their spots on the team.

Should we just tell all linemen to sit out?

Update:

There is now no official cause of death as reports of him dying of Covid-19 appear to have been premature.

quote:

Jamain Stephens, a defensive lineman at California University of Pennsylvania, died Tuesday at age 20.

The school issued an official statement on Stephens' death: "California University of Pennsylvania is saddened to learn of the death of Jamain Stephens, a business administration major and a senior on the football team. Cal U mourns the loss and extends its condolences to his family and friends."

Central Catholic, Stephens' high school in Pittsburgh, initially believed he died from COVID-19 complications, though it stated Wednesday it "mistakenly attributed his death without official confirmation on cause," per Brad Everett of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

On his Instagram his roommate said he did NOT die of covid but from a blood clot that traveled to his lungs.

I’ll find it and link it.

To be fair, isn’t one of the possible complications from Covid-19 the formation of blood clots?

Of course that’s exactly the sort of complication a covid positive person would be screened for if they were constantly surrounded by team doctors in a highly regimented football program

He could of died any day now from heart disease, stroked out from the grease running thru his veins.

And who gives a frick if he's the average OL size, those fat fricks will die of obesity, heart disease, etc. They don't need to get covid to find the morgue.

To be fair, a lot of football was shut down as a result of the politicizing of COVID. Can't blame people for defending their turf because they know what the next cry will be, shut it all down.
