Couldn't agree with him more. Self absorbed rap culture has taken over the NBA and it doesn't only reflect in the players but also the fanbase.

I could never imagine Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing acting like NBA players do these days. Its all about me me me me me stat padding ring chasing.

I don’t know if it’s about winning as much anymore as it is looking good on Instagram, Twitter, having followers and having clicks and likes. I do agree 20 years ago people weren’t on their phones as much … But I’m not going to blame everything on social media. We’re all competitors. I usually based my happiness on winning and losing. When we won it was fun. We would play music after games. When we lost we were pissed. That’s what I based my happiness on. Guys would sit around the locker room waiting for the coach to talk and during that wait there would be conversations taking place. Now it is 15 guys on their phones. There’s not much time being spent together.

Translation: The Funnie Five thinks NBA basketball has become "too black" and doesn't like it anymore.

Could you imagine if 3 Lebron bastards popped up into national prominence in a couple years and one of them was the product of him banging a 13 year old while he was in his 20s? That would be the ultimate shitstorm.

Define "rap culture". If anything, the NBA has gotten away from what people like you would call the "rap culture" of the Iverson era.

This.

Rap culture kind of died in the NBA around 10-15 years ago. It's more of a hipster social media aura now.

You mean the one guy who left his team to go to Houston to win and the other who is the #2 all time scorer and signed with the Lakers to win a ring? Those guys?

Now I will say, we have reached a new age in sports where it’s more important to be a brand than it is to be a teammate/player, etc.

Can we get a millennial board for you entitled whiners to post on? (Of course you won't because it would suck)
