My thoughts too. Seems like a lot of football revenue is classified as non football revenue, which hurts the players in salary cap calculations.

They're already billionaires and still trying to hoard even more cash. There's never enough money for these frickers

I'm old enough to remember when the NFL was a football league, not an international media/investment/gambling cartel.

Yeah pretty crazy how something so simple is drawing so much ire. You'd think you were in a socialist country.

With that being said, the poster that had the comment about bypassing the Rev sharing made a very good point. Specifically because they leverage the NFL itself for some of these investments. Now if course if it's in the CBA then that point is moot.

So what happens when an NFL owner sells their team ? Do they get to stay in the PE? If current owners keep adding to the pot, how does that work for ex-owners ?

I think the fair thing to do would be to open the fund up to any players that want to invest, or the union, or both. Money is money

I 100% agree with you on this.

I don't trust the NFL / 32 Equity moral compass.

They wrap themselves in the flag, then apologize to Kaepernick who shits on the country.

They have proven to have no problems pushing the public around and definitely have a progressive agenda. BLM, George Floyd, Jacob Blake, Social Justice, COVID Shot, End Zone / Back of helmet messaging.

If you don't do what they want, they will collectively destroy you or hold you hostage until you see it their way, otherwise you as a smaller entity cannot survive. They will crush you.

Just another monster corporation set up to influence and crush the unsuspecting public. Thank you for letting me know who some of these companies are - I won't be supporting any of those companies in the future.

Why is it allowed for a monopoly to be used as a vehicle for these financial investments?

The key difference is that the investment comes from the NFL owners personally (Company 1), rather than from the NFL itself (Company 2), allowing them to potentially bypass the league's revenue-sharing structure.

Essentially, the owners benefit from two separate entities: Company 1, through which they personally invest in businesses, and Company 2 (the NFL), which then chooses to partner with, promote, or invest in those same businesses.

By leveraging the NFL's massive platform and influence, Company 2 significantly increases the value of businesses in which Company 1 already holds an ownership stake.

In other words, the owners use the NFL's collective resources to increase the value of their private investments, while keeping the financial upside outside the league's traditional revenue-sharing structure.

The counter to this is, don't players leverage the NFL for some of their commercial/investment deals?

By becoming a general partner in this fund, the NFL will get paid to manage other people's money (management fees and carry), and team owners won't have to share any of that money with players

MLB teams are also getting around revenue sharing (though mostly with other teams) by creating these food/drink/shopping areas directly outside the stadium. They would much rather you buy a beer outside the stadium because they get the full profit off that beer.

I wonder how many of those companies are online gaming companies?
